Stopped there on a weeklong trip to Amsterdam. Warm, cozy oldschool pub. Got proper glassware for all the beers I ordered. The staff was very helpful, even when it was crowded. Well worth the visit if you find yourself in Amsterdam.

Final stop of the Amsterdam big 4. I really like the ambiance in this place, kind of a retro feel and despite it being in the very center of Amsterdam (as close to centraal station as you can get as far as RB places go), in a really touristy area, it seemed to be filled mainly with locals (lots of students, and some older guys too). There is no bar seating unfortunately, and it gets quite full if you arrive after the work day. Staff was very friendly. At the peak time, they seemed a bit under-staffed, it took a while to get served but otherwise it was fine. They offer snacks for food which is nice. The selection is decent, 18 taps with a lot of fillers (Guinness, Maredsous Triple, Barbar, stuff liek that) there were a few obscure Dutch picks though which were fun to try. The bottle list is okay, but it gets eclipsed by the others. Prices are pretty good, a couple cents cheaper than the other well rated places. I’ll be back.

A bit hard to find without a map as the Koolksteg does not have a street sign in the crossing from the pedestrian street. Once inside this place has a nice down to earth feel to it. Military colored walls brings thoughts to mid 20th century days. Decent cellar and interesting things on tap. Friendly, knowledgable and helpful uniformed staff that brought beers to the table.

Traditional, atmospheric two-room pub. The main bar is to the left as you enter, with a smaller room on the right. The pub was packed on two visits, but both times we secured a table in the smaller room. We had the excellent Nick & Simon IPA on both visits. Other beers sampled included Cantillon Cuvee St Gilloise and Rose de Gambrinus - not cheap but delicious. My favourite pub of the trip in terms of atmosphere.

Nice local in central Amsterdam. Good dutch and foreign beers on draft, for me is not the best one of the three (Wildeman Beer Temple and Arendsnest)
Still a nice place to grab a beer and have a chat.

A nice bar in central Amsterdam with good selection. A large room with a small tables throughout. Service was a bit slow, but the selection of Belgians and Dutch taps made it worthwhile. I didn’t peak at the bottle list. A good amount of snacks available as well. Prices were competitive with the other top beer bars in Amsterdam.

Been here a few times, nice atmosphere and old style bar. Service is good, will bring drinks to you. The selection is varied, there are some great beers like Emellise barrel aged stouts, then they have Guinness and boring lagers. Good to pick a couple, but plays third to Beer Temple and Arendsnest for selection and choice of unusual beers

Great place with nice decoration and good selection of beers on tap. The bottle selection was interesting too. Excelent service, with helpful staff. A little bit expensive.

Maybe my favorite place to drink beer in Amsterdam. Nice atmosphere, great and ever changing selection with a growing number of Dutch beers too. Knowledgeable staff as well, a great plus and the location isn’t too shabby either.

Nice bar with rustic furniture, and a couple of sections for noisy/quiet. The guys at the bar were very friendly and helpful, and they had a good range of unusual local beers both on tap and in bottles.
The only real detractor was the price of bottled beers is a bit steep, but I was drinking from the taps...
