Very nice pub, especially the occasions when they serve unknown beers from a selected country.

I have been coming to this timeless masterpiece of a bar since it first opened in 1986. This is one of the world’s top 10 beer bars in my book, not for its state-of-the-art range, though this changes constantly, but because it combines classic design, great beer and its quiet persistence. Only a couple of hundred metres from Amsterdam Centraal Station, it remains enigmatically authentic, its main bar dominated by a double-rack of spirits casks. No music, thank God, just talk, often with strangers. The fact that some of the faces on both sides of the bar have been there over 20 years while it still carries on developing says a lot. An intelligent and perpetually refreshed international beer list is featuring more and more small new Dutch brewers and a few of the more entertaining British and German ones.

One of the oldest beer bars of Amsterdam. Good selection but a lot of standaard "craft" beers not very exciting

They’ve got a decent beer list and great beers on tap. The rare micro’s on tap were the cherry on the pie. The ambiance fell short though: the place looked nice, but there was no music and most visiters were alone. So it wasn’t very lively (we visited on a monday though)

One of the oldest beer bar of Amsterdam. Good selection but the really craft beers are expensive. Tilquin Gueuze € 9,00 for 25cl!!

Nice boozer with a decent selection. Staff were friendly. Worth going to and a short distance from Central Station

Smalll and cosy bar that I visited several times during a weekend. Nice to have such a good choice of tap beers. Beers from the tap were reasonabley priced but the bottles, especially the Begian ones were very dear. Regardless of the beer though this is just a nice place to sit, have a drink and chat.

This place gets a 10 for ambiance. The best looking bar I’ve been to, it just reeks of history. Excellent and varied selection, the taps rotate often. A hidden gem in the tourist-trap area.

Great place in Amsterdam that primarily only sells local beer. The bartender was very helpful with the selection explaining those from the major brewers to those brewing at home. Tried many different beers from both the tap list and bottles. Definitely recommended for the beer geek in Amsterdam

Knowledgeable staff with a great tap-list and more than a few great bottles. Easy going.

One of the "must stop at" places if you like beer. And the cheese and sausage plate is pretty good too.
