76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20
I am basing this rating based on Noogfest 4.0, not a standard dining experience. This building is far nicer than the Nashville location. The modern dining ambiance also has the bar and pool table area separate, which is a nice touch. They also have streetside dining which is great for people watching. The food ranges from pub fare (pizzas, nachos, etc) to more pricey entrees like steak. I went with the pizza which was good. If you like a tame session beer that compliments your food, then I think their beers do a respectable job of that. The private back room for Noogfest was a nice touch and the server worked hard all night. The only thing he screwed up on was not getting names or credit cards for food orders, thus we had some people that forgot to pay the tab (and we all chipped in to cover it)

I would rather go home than go to Big River. I rarely find anything good about their beers at all and unfortunately, itís been the only brewery in town for quite a while. Unless youíre looking for the young professional crowd youíd be best to stop off somewhere else (thatís why it has earned the name Yuppie River). The food is decent enough but doesnít redeem the ho-hum beers they offer.

Um, well, what can I say? Meeting up with Shaggy/Clash (Matt) was about the highlight in this somewhat beer-deprived city. I guess this is about the best theyíve got going, so if youíre in Choo Choo city, make a stop. Just donít expect good beer: pretty bland, sweet if anything, a little underattenuated too. The place was pretty dark restaurant and bar-side.

This is a very large brewpub/restaurant with an excellent downtown location. They have cool old timey decor, several pool tables, and itís fairly family-friendly.. bit smoky at times, though. They usually have 6 or 7 beers that should be available, and theyíre out of a couple of íem.. decent stuff, but I havenít had anything really good there. Service is hit or miss, and I really enjoy the food. This is a good hangout in Chattanooga.

Cool ambiance but the service is spotty. Great beers which is the reason to go. Ironhorse is a great stout. Food is really good, just went to a Christmas party there. Salads actually rock.

I used to go here when I was single and drank liquor only...Iíd buy one drink, snob all the bitches and golddiggers who thought they were fine, and step right the fuck out....P.S.~ Their pool tables and cues are low quality...unacceptable to a real player.

Nice looking place. Food was really good, and the beers are also quality. The service was crappy the times Iíd gone there, but everything else was fine. A little more expensive than Iíd like, but since this is the only place in Chattanooga, what are you gonna do? At least itís good stuff.

Stopped in here for Noogfest and also the next day for lunch. Service is ok, food is pubgrub, and ambiance is giant chain brewpub. Regualr beers are what youíd expect from a corporate chain, and nothing too special about their seasonals either.

For the first time I went into the bar section where the pool tables are located. Was fortunate enough to get here before it was really crowded. The smell of lite cigar smoke filled the room the lighting was good enough to see well but low enough to lend to the comfort. There was music playing loud enough to hear but not too loud to talk above. There was a good mix of families ,couples and groups of singles. The beer selection was not huge but good. My only problem with the selection was no porter on tap (my favorite now). Each brew I had was good but not great. I know the Iron Horse Stout is an award winner but I personally liked the House IPA just a little better. Overall good well rounded establisment. Food was good as was service and beer.
