Based on mail order. Bine & Vine is the reincarnation of South Bay Drugs Imperial Beach. Sign up for their email newsletter and grab some very limited release California stuff for shipping almost anywhere in the US. You have to buy in multiples of 6 bottles so I usually order 6 or 12. Shipping is of course pricey, but not out of control. Packaging is always down with the molded carboard wine bottle holders, which are awesome: don’t make a mess, reusable, I even use them to make my own beer cellar. Service is very fast with the owner remembering frequent customers and giving you priority. This is the only US retailer I’ve ever ordered online from before. Other than this, I’ve only ordered from Etre Gourmet and Belgium in a Box.

I stopped into the brick and mortar store looking for a couple bottles for my night over in SD. Smallish store but they lack a lot of bottles in their limited space. Friendly employees with good knowledge. I found a couple interesting brews, but honestly, the selection was a bit of a letdown. I was hoping for more of the SD local/limited distribution stuff but what I found was a lot of bottles I could find anywhere. They did have a good import and regional craft selection. Worth a stop if in the area but not a special trip.

First stop of the day, heard this was the new south bay drugs so I was looking forward to checking it out. Atmosphere is pretty laid back, maybe a little stale. We were the only people in the place other than the guy behind the register and I am not even sure he noticed we came in. Once we finally walked past him he asked if I needed anything but we were already heading out the door having not found anything I hadn’t already purchased elsewhere. Quality was pretty good. I didn’t notice any out of date bottles and they had lots of different glasses to go along with them. The selection was pretty good. I noticed some decent bottles but there were also a bunch of holes in their stock. Prices were pretty good, a few definitely on the high side but all in all it was reasonable. Overall a pretty solid bottle shop, I was expecting a little more but thats my fault not theirs.

Mail order. Ambiance score is for website. Good website, well packed, shipped fast, and I felt fair prices. Be careful to check your spam/junk mail for an email from them, if you don’t receive an email from them in a couple days. Geoi is concerned with your experience. I would order from them again.

Mail order. South Bay Drugs with a new name. Ordering online is actually easier now than it was with South Bay; it all can be done right there on the website, with inventory and the blog updated constantly. There are a lot of great online beer shops these days, that offer great service. But if you can find one with better service than Geoi’s Bine & Vine I’d like to see it. Shipping, packing, and beer prices are all very reasonable. And in all my orders with B&V and South Bay before, I’ve never had a single thing go wrong.

Browsed the selection here one lazy summer afternoon. Impressed with the array of Belgians and strong focus on California. Almost everything is in single and in coolers, which is how it should be. Lots of choices, well stored, and a friendly staff. Well curated. Prices were a bit high.

Mail order rating. Made a recent order with these guys. Good selection and the shipping wasn’t too bad either. A bit of a delay in shipping and did have a beer subbed out due to the other not being in stock though it was listed. Still, would order from here again if there were some solid beers.

Stopped by after Toronado. The place is nice and open, not cramped at all. I like the fact that beer takes center stage, with almost everything in coolers lining two of the four walls of the store. Pretty good selection of both locals and Belgians. A shocking amount of Drei Fonteinen Golden Blend - cases of it sitting on the floor. Nothing earth shattering here, but a nice store with good prices.
