Use to be Sams, wish it still was because beer purchases actually count toward their bonus card. Adam, does a great job stocking lots of new things and keeping the local ones available. The best Binnyís to shop at.

The best Liquor store in Chicago. Recently renovated (however, the wine section got most of the spoils of the renovation). Gets great deals on beer regularly and the best import selection in Chicago (however their import prices are often not particularly good). Their buyers are very knowledgeable and Iíve seen them at work. Service desk is great to work with if you need kegs and their tap rentals are really reasonable (and they work!). They also have access to pretty much every keg available in Chicago.

Huge selection, though all the good beer (minus some standard sixers and a few bombers) is out on the floor. Seems a little difficult to find some small-release stuff but the standards from a amazing number of breweries can be found, both domestic and European. Better by far than Bevmo, which is the west coast equivalent. They donít have Struise at Bevmo, or Drie Fonteinen for that matter. Iím going to have to pretty much start at the top for selection here, subtract a little for the lack of refrigeration, and throw out the lack of some uber-rarities because I just donít give a shit. Service is pretty much non-existent. This place is a supermarket with mostly alcohol. Weird though that as soon as you step into the wine section, someone is dying to help you find something.

Definitely a fan of this chain. This one had an even bigger selection than the one on West Grand. Incredible selection of Belgian and European beers. Lots of Mikkeller and BrewDog along with the big American breweries. Good selection of Bruery products along with Hoppiní Frog, Three Floydís, Bellís and Founders. If you see a Binnyís, go and check them out. Didnít talk to any staff members in this one however.

Great select of beer, and all things alcohol.

Checked this out after leaving Goose Island -- last stop in a weekend trip to Chicago. Very nice selection, not sure whatís normally available in Chicago area, but I was looking primarily for some Goose Island Bourbon Stout (which they had at 1/3 price as inside the brewpub), but found some Lost Abbeyís and some Belgian beers I canít get in Ohio. Friendly service -- a guy was walking around asking for help and apologizing a bit as he explained Dark Lord Day weekend cleared out some of his better inventory. They also signed me up for a discount card that saved me a few dollars even though Iím not in the area. Definitely looking forward to coming back next trip.

This was the first place I stopped in terms of beer when I got to Chicago. While the beer was limited really to two aisles (plus ample coolers), the selection was quite good. The beer manager Adam really knows his stuff, and the attention to detail shows. Not a speck of dust on any bottles, even the ones that have some age. Very clean and tidy, shelves stocked well. Spent a while talking with him, and since my suitcase space was going to be filled with Dark Lord on the way home, was limited to a scant couple of bottles. He grabbed me some stuff that wasnít even out on the shelves yet. Wish I had more space to bring stuff home, as there were quite a few things that I wanted to get but couldnít be sure Iíd have the space.

The Binnys website was useless and had not been updated in YEARS when I last tried it - they no longer had 80% of the beers I wanted off it. Donít even try and order over the web...I got completely screwed on an order that was completed online, and even later confirmed via telephone, and then - when I go to pick the beer up in store - discover that they didnít have the beers as they previously said they did... Other than that, good selection and fair pricing, but they run out of stuff a lot...

Well, "Binnyís" doesnít seem to sell beer on the web. Everything I saw was "In Store Only". Looks to be worthless. My rating applied before "Binnyís" took over. Former rating: Web site was a bit behind. Stock is at several locations. But the personal service was just exceptional. Well worth shopping here.
