I was quite fortunate to visit the place while they were holding a tasting. Around 15 microbreweriess including Bells, Sierra Nevada, Dark Horse, Great Lakes had reps there and I could sample a few great beers. The selection is quite massive, probably the largest in Chicago, though next time I’ll definitely visit Armanetti to be sure, though not necessarily the cheapest. Themore upscale West lakeview seemed cheaper. nevertheless, Binny’s had lots of stuff that were not at West lakeview, think Issaquah, much more Belgians, more six-packs kind of stuff. The rarities are not in larger quantities though, but I still feel that it’s a mandatory complement to West lakeview if visiting Chicago (though again, I need to see Armanetti before being trusted on that)

Man, this place is huge. Two or three aisles of beer and a large refrigerated section. I’m not a fan of not being able to buy singles in this city, but I guess that’s not really the stores fault. Lots of stuff that we can’t get in NYC, but I do have to say it’s pretty damn pricy in here. The sales staff made a point of avoiding eye-contact with me and trying to stay invisible while I roamed the aisles. The tasting room looks pretty cool, but it was unfortunately closed the day I was in here. A bit warehouse-like, but at the end of the day, it is a liquor store.

Went there early on a Monday morning, so bar was obviously not open, however, it is quite nice, with around 10 taps and various bottles to try. The store itself as an excellent selection of beers from all over the world. Binny account gives you discount (just ask for it at the check out). Prices compare to Sams, with light variations. Overall, a pleasant shopping experience awaits you.

Visited on Sunday 04/11/12 around 1.30pm. Not too busy, bar at the entrance but we had no time to check this out as we had a train to catch in around an hour. Had chosen this Binny’s as it was the nearest to Union Station (10-15 minutes walk). We ended getting a cab from the forecourt of the garage opposite as our bags weighed a ton ! No one came to offer help whilst shopping but that doesn’t bother me. Good enough choice but no real rareties, plenty of new rates for me however ! 6 pack mixed 12 oz bottles for $10. Again not too many ineresting choices (I’d had the bulk before) but there were a lot of new rates for me and perhaps for a first time visitor to the US. Service at the till was efficient and friendly and one employee packed and boxed our beers whilst the other put them through the till. Decent enough store but a fair distance short of world class!

Easy to find location directly off interstate with parking behind and under the building. Large beverage store with the beer to the right of escalator. Freindly assistant with good knowledge of local brews. Good selection. Went home with everything I was looking for.

Huge Binnys with small bar that had several taps. Very nice selection but not the truly special selection I remember it once having. Still probably the best liquor store in the city when it comes to quanity and quality. Doesn’t have some of the rare gems you can find at wlv liquors from time to time, but who does. Tap room is nice but there plenty of other places in the area I would rather have a drink though.

Big liquor store in Chicago’s South Loop area. Free parking around back, just take an escalator up to the store. Good beer selection, several aisles in a row. Decent selections of Three Floyds, Lost Abbey/Port, and a lot of other great breweries. Huge Bell’s and Founders selections, but they don’t break those down into individual bottles- 6 packs only. Good representation from local breweries- Goose Island seasonals, Half Acre, Two Brothers, and so on. A girl came by and asked twice if I needed help, so they seem to be attentive. A little overpriced on some stuff. Good bar off to the corner with a nice city view.

This place is kind of like the midwest BevMo. Great breadth of selection, but few rarities. Awesome deals are ready to be had. No real reason not to patron this place when you’re in the area.

Yeah this place is the shit. Unreal. Singles galore. Imports, craft brews, locals...you name it. And the service was great. Great damn place. Wish I had one of these near me!!

This is a must visit when in Chicago. This blows Sams out of the water. For starters, the beer is well organized and the entire store does not have a warehouse feel to it. Second, they have a bar that has a great view of the Chicago skyline. They rotate the taps regularly and even have some rare stuff as well. So you can shop for beer and sit down and drink a few afterwards. They also have a very cool high dollar room with VERY expensive whiskies and cognacs. As far a beer, you can find all the regional offerings, micros from around the country, as well as Belgian/ Euro stuff. Prices are on par with the area.
