78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 mcdav2154 (17) , Germany | October 14, 2012 Average sports bar. Good local brews. My burger was ok but the appetizers were great! Service was good but the server really didn’t have too much knowledge on the beer, nor could he find out info on when/if the pumpkin beer will be available any time soon. I will definitely go back to sample more beers. |
78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 cratez (151) Toronto, Ontario | March 15, 2011| Updated December 30, 2011 My family and I came here for dinner and drinks during a recent trip to Daytona Beach. Having been thoroughly impressed by McK’s Tavern and Bottle Caps, I was excited to visit the city’s only brewpub.
First of all, this enormous restaurant looks very attractive from the outside, and the interior decor is even more beautiful. Lots of dim lights, bright and colourful posters, and a gargantuan, well-lit bar give the place a modern and welcoming ambience. The inside was jammed with patrons but, after calling ahead, we secured a comfortable booth in the dining area.
Service was fast and helpful as our food and drinks arrived in reasonable time and the waitress informed me of the seasonal draughts from Sierra Nevada, Dogfish Head, and Samuel Adams. She also provided us with brief descriptions of the brewpub’s beers.
If I recall correctly, the house selection includes the Piranha Pale Ale, P.M. Porter, Tatonka Stout, Nutty Brewnette, Brewhouse Blonde, Jeremiah Red, and Harvest Hefeweizen, among several others. There was no IPA on my visit, though surprisingly the bar carries a full range of high-end Belgian bottles. I paired my Buffalo Chicken Pizza with a Widmer Drifter Pale Ale and it proved to be a fantastic match.
My girlfriend and parents enjoyed their appetizers and entrees and had no trouble procuring a couple wines of their liking. Four two-course meals and eight drinks came to $150 with tip, which is pretty fair in my books.
Overall, we were quite satisfied with our experience here and I would probably visit BJ’s on a regular basis if I lived in the area. In addition to the house beers, they also offer various rotating taps from other breweries, so there’s a good chance that you’ll always find something different on tap. Awesome spot. |
