Visited on August 20, 2014, in the evening. Maybe the smallest of all the drinking place in town (there are two others that I’ve not tried), but the best tap selection also. The pub is divided in two sections, the left is just the bar, the right is the bar and tables. There is a TV with no sound, the music is nice. The is more for locals than the others, but one guy was a bit of ass by wanting to impress us (and maybe a bit drunk to). The service was nice. Next time, I’ll go the left section where it’s more quiet!

Stopped in a few times over July 4th weekend 2014 with Vinny and Keith. What a cool little pub. Two small rooms are divided by the bar space with limited tables elsewhere (3-4 tables). Chalk boards line the perimeter which detail the draft and bottle menus. Expect Hill Farmstead, Heady Topper (draft and cans), Lawsons, Jacks Abbey on draft and probably some lambic / gueuze available in bottles. Super friendly bartenders and the owner is cool as heck. Sad to hear that their relationship with Mad Taco had ended shortly before our visit, but will make sure to try their own kitchen next time.

Literally across the street and a couple doors down from Prohibition Pig. Silly not to stop there. Pretty good taplist with a mix of locals and international fare. Seem to have a think for Denmark, with taps from Mikkeller and Amager. Space is pretty small and oddly divided, but the place was not busy on a Wednesday evening. Service was very friendly. Beers were served in HF stemware, which was kind of cool. They do serve food, but we did not try anything.

Was hoping to find some Lawson’s on tap, but alas, they were out. The bar is split into two different rooms, which is a little odd. I did not try any food, though they have some taco stuff. A chick a few seats down ordered their guacamole, and that looked not bad. Expensive, not nearly the draft selection of the Pig across the street. I did not ask to see a bottle list, though I wish I had.

Établissement visité le vendredi 28 février vers 20h00. Ambiance: Petit pub situé dans un demi sous-sol. L’endroit était plein, une chance qu’ils ont doublé la superficie car j’ose pas imaginé ce que ça devait être avant. Service: Comme l’endroit était plein on devait aller se faire servir au bar donc service rapide et impersonnel. Sélection: Autour d’une vingtaine de bière en fût. Américaine et européenne. Nourriture: Rien mangé mais semble avoir un menu de taco intéressant. (234e rating d’établissement)

Visited on a recent business trip in the area.
Ambiance: Cool little basement bar with low ceilings, bar split in two from support wall but it wrapped around entire space...but wouldn’t want to be in there when it was crowded.
Service: Prompt and Knowledgeable about the beers on tap
Selection: Lots of similarities from the other local places with a few minor changes but slightly weaker selections but still pretty spot on
Value: Beers were probably the cheapest of the three places in town, even on the same beers. Roughly 6-7 dollars per beer.
Solid place with a more homey feel to it over Pro Pig and Reservoir but tight space.

I love this place. It has the feel of a dive, aleit a very tidy one if that makes any sense, but the taplist is unreal. So many awesome beers, and the list always rotates. Mad Taco is also delicious, but they are a bit pricey. I stop by here every time I’m in Waterbury for at least a pour or two.

sort of divey, amazing draft list (6-7 Hill farmsteads, Dieu de ciel, zero gravity to name a few) bartender rocked. very comfortable, zero uppityness. Great palce to hang out & drink amazing beer

The best of the three beer bars I visited in Waterbury. Has the most character and the bartenders and regulars are much friendlier than Prohibition Pig, even if the selection is a little lower. Didn’t check the bottle list here though. They pour pints or half pints and give samples to taste before ordering. Cool decor here as well. Would recommend.

I hit this up late Friday so my visit is a bit skewed. As we walked in the bar tender ran off 6 beers that were all out, and the only reason that I was there. The rest of the list wasn’t anything I needed to try. I would have like to see some solid kegs on back up, I need to come back when they have a full line up and spend a few hours there. From the atmosphere I would have liked to stay and drink there over a Pro Pig.
