Years ago. Small place with a hellava good selection. Not exactly well priced but for the rarity like BA Old Salty and Cuvee de Castleton it canít be beat. I grabbed 2 bottles of Castleton and had a pint of their double IPA.

Went on a Wednesday which I didnít realize was brewery special night. The night I went the featured brewer was magic hat. They had a ton of stuff Iíd never seen from that brewery before which was cool. After I spent about 5 minutes wading through NYC hipsters to get to the bar, the bartender was great about catching my eye, getting my order and getting the beer. There were only two bartenders helping about 75-90 patrons and they did a great job. Beer selection was really nice, prices were decent, but it was crowded almost beyond comfort.

Great spot around the corner from alot of other places to duck in and out of. This is the place to have a beer though. A good glass of beer. An excellent glass of beer too. Itís all there. From good to the best around right there. It gets crowded though and best times are early.

Great selection, OK prices, small and crowded, but its NYC so what do you expect. Didnít try the food, though some looked good.
5/13 Update:Was just randomly looking through my reviews, and saw this old one from BT. This is the problem with rating on a first visit, I was way off! Blind Tiger is now my favorite beer bar in the city, and I go there all the time. First off, the food is really good, so we can update that. Secondly, yes it is always packed, but if you can find a time to go where its less then a zoo, it is a great place to drink. The bartenders are really good, they know beer, and theyíll treat you well if your hanging out and its not too packed. Lastly, on the selection, they get some really cool stuff here despite not having a huge list. Iím rarely disappointed by what is available. Recommended for an afternoon visit to keep the crowds down a bit.

Hell of a beer bar. Huge tap selection, lots of good East coast stuff. Solid bottle list too, lots of fairly hard-to-find Belgians (had a Struise Pannepot there). Nice atmosphere, almost a cabin-like feel inside, although because itís Manhattan, it can get a little crowded of course. Prices are not bad for the area. Oh yeah, the food is awesome too. There is some really crazy stuff on the menu.

The Blind Tiger Ale House is a great stop on any evening -- be it your first, final or only destination.
In summer the windows open to Bleecker street, giving a nice outdoors-ish feel to the place. In the winter it’s unbelievably packed, but in either situation, the bartenders are good about finding out and taking your order.
On to the tab selection, which is immense, and gets some pretty cool gravity and cask ales, often from Sixpoint. Frequently, they’ll do a menu coup, in which 6-10 beers from a single brewery -- many impossibly hard to find -- will be featured. On my most recent visit, quite a few Goose Island were on draught, and this is never a bad thing.
In terms of food, I’ve only ever had the cheese plate here, which was nice and chosen by Murray’s (just down the street).
The bottle list, from which I’ve yet to sample, is dauntingly long...
A NYC beer landmark.

Wow, am I glad I stumbled upon this nice little place. Our little party whiled away an afternoon drinking the draft list of about 28 offerings, mostly domestic, all of them good. This would be a regular spot if I lived in the city. It did fill up as Friday turned into Friday evening, and the bar is small. Didnít try the food, though. The drafts are certainly a better value than the bottled offerings.

I get to the Tiger as often as I can. The bar is very crowded, but the staff are usually as attentive as they can be. Small but quickly-rotating tap selection that makes it feel like a completely new place every 2-3 weeks. The food is also quite good, and the setup makes it a great place to relax after work or on an afternoon.

First time at the new BT. Very comfortable, albeit crowded, on the warm fall afternoon. Good tap listing and a pretty extensive bottle list, too. Friendly crowd and helpful staff. The food we had was decent and slightly off-center for a casual beer place but certainly not for a NY establishment. Nice location for people watching. I only wish I didnít live so far or Iíd enjoy the suds from the BTís taps much more often.
