Large Brew-pub right by the river and in the middle of the tourist area. We sat on the terrace on the second floor over looking the Elbe. Only two beers available. These were Pilsner/Original & a seasonal, which on our visit was a Weisse beer. They tasted pretty much the same. Service was good. A cosy place to visit. Wish they had more/better beers to choose from.
Large riverside bar and restaurant. We came here early evening and the place was filling up. We were directed upstairs and to choose a table on the mezzanine, which we did, but the reception we got from the server was as if we’d just walked into his house. We order one of each of the beers on draught and perused the menu, the cutlery was slammed down on the table and the server stood at the end of the table waiting for the order. We said we would need a little longer, which was met with more disdain! The beers were nothing special, the Pils was ok, but the wheat beer was pretty poor. We paid for the beers and left. Come for the rates, but don’t stay, the food could be spectacular but would never make up for the awful service.
Large, modern multi-floored venue on the riverside. It was busy on the July afternoon we visited. Popular with tourists it had music playing loudly. 2 beers on tap plus mixers. Tanks and kettles near to bar was nice. Service not best. Beer was ok. Visit it once for the beer, wouldn’t rush back.
This brewpub is located just beside the massive tourist attraction Landungsbrücken in Hamburg - but due to the fact that we were there right at opening time, it was not that busy when we arrived like when we left. Service was very friendly, also very child friendly, and very fast. Beers (two on tap) were ok and drinkable, the chips with the homemade tomato sauce and mayonnaise were very tasty. Prices for the beer and chips okay, for the other meals a little bit too high. Only recommended for the beer ticks due to the many tourists.
Has all the markings of a tourist trap, but it could be a lot worse. If the weather is nice enough, head up to the terrace for one of the best views of the harbor. The beer is predictably boring, but competently made. The interior is actually rather tasteful, but there’s no hiding the fact that the place is intended for serving several hundred tourists simultaneously, and that doesn’t exactly help the ambiance.
