70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 brentfeesh (80) Gadsden, Alabama | July 26, 2012 Enjoyed on a visit to customers. Sat out side for what was to be one beer. But low and behold we found out that they close the street every Thursday and Friday about 28 weeks out of the year and have live music and entertainment. Loved being out side and the inside looked just fine. Or server was very polite and engaging and was relatively knowledgeable. They had 7 beers available and I would agree with the rest that there is not a looser in the bunch. Nothing awesome, just good. Had the mixed game plate and I’d give that a b. Did not feel like I paid too much and would go back. | 60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 Drake (392) Ivy, Virginia | February 26, 2012| Updated January 24, 2013 Stopped by during Sunday Brunch and the place was pretty full. Log establishment with a long bar to the left and tables to the right. The brewing setup is at the very front by the windows, which is a setup I haven’t seen very often. I had a sampler and none of the beers were below average with a couple that were solid. The food was pretty good as well. Service was all right. Prices are reasonable. Parking is tricky right in front but there are garages around. Walking distance to Greenville Beer Exchange and a couple beer bars.
Gotta knock the score down some, as I got horrible food poisoning the next day. I’m not knocking down the food score, as I can’t guarantee it was them, though I’m pretty sure it was, but I did send an email just to let them know and never got a response, so service score is going down. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 hectorG (9) North Carolina | July 19, 2011| Updated January 24, 2013 ok food, decent beer | 38 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 1/10 VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 1/20 Itzjerm (38) Taft, Tennessee | November 5, 2010| Updated January 24, 2013 The beer here is not very good... average to bad. The ambiance and service was good... but the killer. The food. (which why would you go to brewpub unless you expect food). I got food poisoning.. didn’t make it home without everything coming out both sides. AVOID AVOID AVOID | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 Velkyal (70) Charlottesville, Virginia | September 8, 2010| Updated January 24, 2013 Good food, decent beer and not wildly pricey. Add to that a great downtown location and a cozy atmosphere and you have a nice pub for dinner or just a few hours boozing. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 lithy (156) Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania | June 7, 2010| Updated January 24, 2013 So it seems that this was the precursor to Foothills. Ate inside which was pretty dim and divey. 5 hours beers on tap were all solid but not outstanding. Food menu was odd, all over the place but my personal deep dish pizza was good. They seemed to have the dough close to right. Homemade ketchup and mustard was a big plus. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 thagr81_us (24) Gaffney, South Carolina | May 20, 2010| Updated January 24, 2013 Went here last night to grab some food and brew. This had been the first time I had visited this location in two years. The location and appearance of the brewery is awesome! As soon as you walk in you will see what I mean... Service kind of sucked this night with the server constantly disappearing for extended periods of time. However, when stopping other servers they were very helpful and knowledgable about their beer. So I guess it is hit or miss (at least I hope so). The food was excellent! Definitely try their ’Wild Game Sampler’ if you get the chance. The beer was okay, but not great. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 tronraner (109) Walland, Tennessee | September 8, 2009| Updated January 24, 2013 The best part is the outdoor seating. It’s kind of cozy to sit along the downtown street and sip a few beers, especially on a comfortable autumn day. I sampled the beers and had some onion rings; both were pleasing. They have homemade mustard and ketchup to accompany the food, which is definitely a nice touch. I would stop here again if I find myself nearby for some reason. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 changeup45 (100) Mount Dora, Florida | June 6, 2009| Updated January 24, 2013 Visited 11/13/08. Had lunch here while in the area on business. Nice place. Six beers were on tap. All the beers I tried were solid, I’d say ranging from slightly above average to good. The Ball & Chain IPA and Colonel Pale were my two favorites. Food was pretty good, nothing outstanding, typical pub food but I’m fine with that. Good service. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn’t very busy so can’t comment on the night scene. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 CoachJT (14) Columbia, South Carolina | October 23, 2008| Updated January 24, 2013 The food is great here. The service has always been well above average when I’ve been in, my only complaint is that the beer selection is somewhat limited and they tend to run out quickly of the more popular items. |
