Great BBQ restaurant, especially in the NE. The food is some of the best bbq Iíve had; Brisket so tender it just dissolves in your mouth. Now onto the important part; Beer. I did like 6 of the brews were from NY, one from PA and one from LA. Everything from tiny Sixpoint and Newburgh Brewing to bigger guys like Ommegang. That being said, there wasnít much variety. The darkest beer was Abita Turbo Dog. Sure, there were some bottles, not 35 though. The beer was all served cold as ice in Shaker Pint glasses. Come for the food, enjoy a local beer, but if it is beer you seek, look somewhere else....

Visited May 2012.
Stopped in for dinner mostly but also tried the house beer. Turns out itís made by Brooklyn (big surprise) and itís not bad. If you stop in specifically to get good beer youíll be disappointed but the BBQ was quite enjoyable and we were lucky enough to get there right before the rush. Iím told the whiskey selection is good but having never tried most of that stuff I canít comment. Prices were high, but this is New York.

Gotta love Blue Smoke - more for the great BBQ food than the beer, but the latter is a bonus.
Been here maybe 10 times, most recently in May í12.
Always packed, always a great buzz, always reserve unless you want to wait for an hour or so (you may get in quicker if thereís just the 2 of you).
Service is always spot on and I think I can count one slightly long wait for a drink and one missed side order in 10 or so meals here.
Beers are the usual craft stuff for NYC, Ithaca flower power on my last visit amongst others and an OK bottle selection.
Excellent food venue, beer is a bonus, I hit Blue Smoke every time Iím in town.
Itís also an easy walk to RattleíNíHum (sub 10 minutes) or Waterfront on 2nd (a little less) for pre/post beerage.

The beer list isnít great but the food is fantastic. Nice whiskey selection as well. Tough to get a table on a weekend night.

A nice BBQ restaurant with a better then average beer selection for a restaurant, but nothing crazy exciting. It isnít significantly better selection-wise then the vast majority of restaurants in the NYC area, but that is more of a compliment to the selection of beers available in the area then an insult to this establishment.

Iím surprised this place hasnít been added to the database sooner. As a restaurant this place is fantastic, one of the best barbecue spots in NYC, and as a beer restaurant it more than holds its own. The draft line-up had stuff from good craft brewers. On my visit I had the Brooklyn Concoction. The bottle range has lots of normal stuff (Leffe, Chimay, etc.) but there is also lots of less common stuff to choose from. I had a rib sampler platter and it was great. In terms of ambience and service Blue Smoke is definitely top-shelf. The prices are not cheap but they arenít too bad either (you could get a half-rack of ribs for about $15). So, for any barbecue-beer lovers out there, I highly recommend this place.
