32 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 2/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 5/20
This is the Hunter Valley shop-front for the Bluetongue brewery, which was recently sold to Coca-Cola Amatil. I think the brewing currently takes place at Cameron Park, so this is basically just a bar/outdoor cafe offering meals and samplers of the Bluetongue range, including just one beer that I havenít seen elsewhere (Premium Draught - awful stuff). The samplers seem fair value at $10 for six tasters until you realise that all that gets you is four lagers (inc. a light), a ginger beer and one ale. Schooners are over-priced. It cost $8.90 for one schooner of beer and one soda water. This place is Bogan Central, so expect hen parties and drunken footy teams. The food is standard pub grub - pies, chips, etc. The vege pizza was the worst Iíve tasted anywhere. Anyone for beetroot chunks? Only worth visiting if you want the six quick rates from a sampler. Otherwise, avoid.
