Nestled in between some lush green mountains in the town of Bristol lies one brewpub, the Bobcat Cafe right down RT 116 and East of Rt 7. This little well lit brewpub / cafe takes on a nice feel. Well kept and clean, pretty "happening." Service was good too. Bartender was jovial and quick with my orders. I was impressed with the burger and the beers were good. Looking forward to going back.
Right on the main drag in Bristol. I was able to find free street parking just up the road. Place was fairly busy on a Friday evening, but I was able to get a spot at the bar without any trouble. They had about four of their beers on tap, as well as a number of other Vermont brews, plus Sculpin. Bartender was a cool older guy, knew his shit and knew all the locals by name. Everything available as samplers for $2/each (Bobcat Beers), and $3 (others). I ordered two samples and the chili chicken wings. I thought both beers were solid (both also had to be entered into the DB), but the wings were a major disappointment. I guess I just selected wrong, cause others seem to like the food here.
A small little Vermont town with a small brewpub that was overall solid. A small place with nuanced rustic feel to it. Service was solid during our visit and bartender was happy to talk about beer. 6 beers on tap during our visit and samplers were available. Food was solid and prices were quite nice. A pleasant surprise for a small Vermont town.
Bristol is a small town with a cute center typical of Vermontís nicer and larger villages. Homey and cozy feel even though itís essentially a restaurant. I would likely make the detour far more often if it opened more than for dinner. Always a nice experience though at the Bobcat, one of those brewpubs combining great food which changes all the time with a solid lineup of beers inclusing many winners, be it the Baltic Porter or the many impressive lagers. It is just too bad that itís not closer to the other top Vermont spots, but then again, it makes every visit more special.
The selection at the time I was there wasnít that good, but I know that sometimes it can be amazing !
The Bartender failed big time on food and drink order. Some of us ask for half pint and they received full, we ask for some specefic food and received something else.
Great place anyway and weíll give an other chance next time the Brewer is in.
In the nice town of Bristol Vermont their is a place that most be visited and that is Bobcat Cafe. The place is small but very inviting it fills up very fast, that is because the beer is good the food is excellent, the service is friendly. You are not rushed, the regulars are fun to talk to, it is just a great place.
July 31, 2011. Wow, a brewpub in a very small town, where Main Street only takes 5 minutes to walk. I went there at the opening and the bar section and it fills up very quickly, but the dining room that opened to 17h, was still some places when I left, maybe because it was a Sunday. The tap selection was smal at the time, but interesting, I like what I hade (Cali Com and Dennis Hopírd). Food wise, it all look good, my steak was delicious and I want to try other stuff on the menu. The place it self is very nice, wood decor and cozy, I would go back there!
