In the nice town of Bristol Vermont their is a place that most be visited and that is Bobcat Cafe. The place is small but very inviting it fills up very fast, that is because the beer is good the food is excellent, the service is friendly.You are not rushed,the regulars are fun to talk to, it is just a great place.

Expensive for tasters but decent beer. Cool wild west looking town. Well worth a stop in.

July 31, 2011. Wow, a brewpub in a very small town, where Main Street only takes 5 minutes to walk. I went there at the opening and the bar section and it fills up very quickly, but the dining room that opened to 17h, was still some places when I left, maybe because it was a Sunday. The tap selection was smal at the time, but interesting, I like what I hade (Cali Com and Dennis Hop’rd). Food wise, it all look good, my steak was delicious and I want to try other stuff on the menu. The place it self is very nice, wood decor and cozy, I would go back there!

A small cozy brewpub in the small town of Bristol, VT. It has a fairly long tap list (8-10 beers) with mostly standard offerings but a few interesting beers. I was excited about the food since their menu is more upscale than most bars, but I found it was overpriced and not as good as I expected (I had a chicken tortilla soup which was super spicy). Overall, an ok place but I was slightly underwhelmed.

The scenic town of Bristol (Population 4000) is considered the "Gateway to the Green Mountains" and is home to the Independence Day Outhouse Races. It is also here where you can find Bobcat Café. Situated downtown, and across the street from its’ Bedford Falls-like town square (You can almost hear George Bailey cry, "Merry Christmas Bobcat Café!"). Nevertheless it can be a very popular place. My first visit involved a 15-minute wait. My most recent one, we just grabbed a seat at the bar.
With that, the Bobcat is somewhat upscale and serves excellent food and several house beers. An intimate space, it is divided into a small, and sometimes cramped, bar area and a narrow dining room; in the back is Bobcat’s small brewery; despite the limited size, I have had the opportunity to quaff their (very malty) porter and, most recently, a Scottish Wee Heavy that tasted like an amber ale with bacon. In any case, there is on hand a diverse selection of regional micros.
While great food, cozy ambience and superb service always make for an enjoyable night out at the Bobcat Café, great beer can always be had in Vermont. Rock Art Brewery, another superlative example, is a 90-minute drive away. There are daily tours and free samples

I have been wanting to visit here for a long time and I was not disappointed. Located right on the main "drag" in downtown Bristol. We arrived a bit before the dining room opened and were immediately "assigned" a table for when we were ready. We sat at the bar while waiting. The decor is old, warm and homey... lots of real wood everywhere. The bartender was very social and quite knowledgeable about the beer that they were serving. They had 12 taps with their own beer that night along with a small selection of "foreign" taps. I also noticed that they have a "mug club" here and the tender told us it was fully subscribed... a good sign. When we did get to dinner, I was pleasantly surprised to find more than just the standard pub fare... in fact some of their offerings were down right unusual... Vermont venison/chorizo meatloaf for example. I had a nice salad and something called a "pecora" (batter fried slivered vegetables), which were both very tasty. The business while we were there was busy (Saturday night), but the staff efficiently moved them through. As with the bartender, the wait-staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will hope to get back there sometime soon.

Really enjoyed this place, all wooden. The building is turn of the 20th century, with a long bar, Victorian in look. The selection of house brews was low that day (Dec. 26 2008) but there were other decent offerings available (MH Participation Lager and Roxy Rolles, Blond Bombshell, SNPA, Maudite, Smutty Old Brown Dog). Food was quite nice, with a happy hour on appetizers. I took the cheese platter with beer sampler, and the Vietnamese Shrimp Cakes. Deli! Highly recommended. Service was friendly and attentive.

This place look like the Alchemist in waterbery..Beautifull bar..Cool people,great service...The beer was greet with a good description from the barman...I did’nt eat there but when a looked in the custumer plate that seem great......

Établissement visité le samedi 14 avril vers 18h. Ambiance: Bonne ambiance de restaurant avec un comptoir pour les gens qui désire seulement prendre une bière. Service: Rien à dire, il fut excellent. Par contre on nous à pas vraiment présenté les bières maisons. Sélection: En plus des 8 bières maisons, on y retrouve aussi quelques fûts de microbrasserie locales ainsi que quelques bouteilles de macros. Les bières maisons que j’ai goûtés été correct sans plus. Nourriture: J’ai commandé le "Misty Knoll Jerk Spiced Chicken" et j’ai adoré. Du poulet servi sur du riz avec un mélange de fèves noires et de chutney aux ananas. (42e rating d’établissement)
