Great new little brewery near downtown Jacksonville - just off I-10. Has a taproom with limited hours and the place was packed when we went there on a Saturday night. They offer a free 10 beer sampler - servings are too small to get a proper rating (unless you are a serious ticker with no shame) but if provides you a good idea of what to order. All were decent - no boundary stretchers here but also did not notice a "house taste" which was nice. Will look for them around town as they have taps at several locations. Stop by if you are going through Jacksonville on I-10. Very friendly crew working there and the place is kid-friendly and customers appeared to be regulars and were really enjoying themselves.

Have been a fan of this place for several years.

We had no idea what we were walking into from the outside of this place. I mean, it’s a warehouse. There’s a roll down door and a regular door to right so we don’t know what to expect. However, when we step through the door we are welcomed from the Florida heat into a classy taproom with candle-lit tables and a brick bar serving some of the best craft brew we’ve had in ages! Sample tray? Free if you plan to purchase a beer- and do we ever plan to purchase. The beer was excellent. Our favorites: the wife feel in love with the Bold City Red Ale while I was impressed with the Mad Manatee. I was only disappointed that I missed the Chinook. Tours of the brewing area were offered every 1/2 hour or so and it was a treat to meet the brewer and owner. Overall one of our best experiences while on vacation. Good people, great beer. Thank you Bold City. Next time we’re in Jacksonville, we will be back!

These guys rolled out the red carpet for the RBWG, ultimate hospitality. Five free beers on tap - opening bottles with the owner.. and they gave us free food. Sweet!

Bold City Brewery is a breath of fresh air in the otherwise desolate beerscape of Jacksonville. I have been to the taproom on numerous occasions, and our brewclub has held several meetings at the brewery. Brian Miller, the brewmaster, is a member and supporter of the brewclub. His mother Susan, is the business manager. Together, they have built the brewery from scratch to a thriving family business with a lot of buzz in Jacksonville. I have tried almost all of their beers, some are great and some are not so great, but the taproom is always an interesting, fun and comfortable place to go for a beer. Prices are good, samples are free, and service is wonderful and caring. Good food is catered by “Jolly Mon Catering” and prices are reasonable. They can’t actually sell any food from the brewery due to some truly idiotic and corrupt Jacksonville laws. The city is corrupt to the core and you can bet that any law passed around here puts some dirty money in at least one city councilman’s pocket. Anyway, I’m a big fan of the brewery. They just greatly enlarged the brewery, so apparently I’m not the only one..

Bold City is awesome. The beer is sort of average but they’re cheap, fun to drink. And hell, where else on the planet do they have beer pong and flip cup tournaments inside the brewhouse while you play with craft beer!? Just really fun and awesome. And cheap barbecue to order right inside the warehouse. My favorite place in Jacksonville!

This is a really neat place tucked away in an industrial part of town. Make sure you know where you are going before you try to find this place. There is a small bar area that is very nice with bar service and some games to play. They do offer a taster of all the beers, for which they don’t charge you if you buy a beer. The party is in the brewing area, with lots games, another bar, and a guy cooking up burgers and pork sandwiches. I have never seen giant Jenga before, but it is in several of the Jax bars. Very nice staff, solid beers, and a very fun vibe.

I loved this place the most from the RBWG2013. Very much a place you coudl call home. Opens with a very small stone bar I would visit every week if I were a local. They have a catered onsight, so the food we had was delicious. I am not sure whether they food daily. Tell Regina her evil Ohio Twin Amy sent you!

Visited here during RBWG 2013. Big thanks to the brewery for giving us the all-access experience, complete with complimentary beer and food! The beers from Bold City are decent. Not the most progressive beers out there, but solid. We were in the brewery rather than the bar section of this place, so we didn’t have the experience most visitors would likely have. The bar space looked nice, like a proper no-frills American bar. We got to meet a few of the staff and even the owner, who was generous enough to crack open some of their limited release beers for us. I had a great time here and would happily return.
