This is a nice little place with a lot of character. You have to look to find it behind shrubs and trees, but it is a treasure

Small McMenamins pub located near downtown Salem. Easy to find but the parking area is very small and tight. Very inviting as you walk in with a tall bar that seats ten and plenty of tables and booths. Went with a friend during a crowded happy hour but had no problem finding a table and getting served. Beer selection was typical McMenamins house beers, Deschutes Brewing Company, Coors Light and PBR. We had the Terminator Stout, Hammerhead Ale, Workingmans Red, Romulan Ale, burgers and tots for $25 - not a bad deal. The burgers were good and with the tots and beer we both were full at the end of our meal. For being a crowded Friday afternoon, the service was brisk but attentive with a smile. The noise level was not bad and it was easy to carry on a conversation. Overall a good experience.

Cool place, nice patio... I can imagine what it would be like on a summer night with the fire burning, pretty awesome. Didnít stay long enough for the live music, but just the fact that they have live bands on the weekend is enough to score points on my chart. Food was great, typical selection of McMenamins beers - nothing mindblowing, but what I had was good. Service left something to be desired... I sat outside on the patio and felt a little neglected... but the waitress and bar staff were all very friendly so I wasnít too disappointed.

If you can go on a lunch hour do it. It gets really loud at night. My wife and I met here, but left because you can hardly hear yourself think.
Good Beer selection, really like their burgers and fries.

The building is the best in Salem. The service is friendly without sucking up, but they sometimes get overwhelmed on busy nights. If a band is playing (never a cover charge), it is difficult to talk and impossible to escape on a cold, winter night. The food is decent, but overpriced ($5+ for large french fries?!). The beer is always good, but most of the taps are taken up with the house brands. The place is as kid friendly as the law allows.

Cool restaurant and bar near downtown Salem. They have a few shaded patios outside. 10 house beers on tap the day I visited, all of which were respectable. Had a very good salad for lunch. Good place.

Nice MacMenamins pub( the second in Salem)..set up in an old ,old bank building 1860 it says above the door.
Inside its n ice and dark with authentic old style wooden floorboards, walls are brickwork. The decor seems to be Belgian/French.Tables and booths and a very high bar!.
Service was prompt, if laid back in the traditional MacMenamins style.
Good selection of most of the MacMs beers..only a couple of guest taps Dead Guy Ale and Pilsner Urquell..plus one macro Coors light.
Good bar food..with extra vegetarian stuff thrown in..I had a Vietnamese Style BBQ pork plate,,quite good.
Overall a nice laid back place to have apint or two .( there is live music most nights)
