You’ll need a trolley here. A selection that embarrasses every other English supermarket, many off licenses and dedicated beer stores; some Belgian warehouses. Nothing especially ’craft’ but an extensive range of English divided by region; some Belgian, Icelandic, US and German stuff on my last visit. Unmissable when in The North; in fact, a reason to visit The North in itself.

Fantastic beer selection, easily the best UK supermarket. Range and price of beers excellent, with a strong focus on British ales. On my current trip home to Preston noticed the foreign section has improved as well - Weihenstephaner Vitus in Preston! The food’s good as well.

With 28 locations around the North West this chain of.supermarkets has tue best selection of seasonals and local beers. Each store may carry something special from the local area. Amazing selection makes it worth visiting several different branches

Located close to the Windermere Railway Station, this medium-sized supermarket offers a fine selection of english (and scottish) bottled Ales - compared to Tesco Superstores even a great selection ! If You can’t make it to Keswick, when You are in the Lake District, try this shop.........
