A nice little shop right next door to ballast point. A good selection of local imports and even some meads. Well setup and easy to find stuff.

Came across this place by accident while going to Ballast point nearby. Actually we parked right outside then noticed it. Great shop, with impressive selection, cold storage and refrigerated beers. Very helpful service. Place is spacious and airy modern and clean. Worth checking out if youíre nearby or visiting Ballast point kitchen.

Pretty solid spot in Little Italy. Not an overwhelming selection, but well chose and like the tasting room attached. Staff was nice.

Small bottle shop in Little Italy just up the street from Ballast Point. The selection is pretty solid, but the store is kind of laid out in a haphazard, seemingly sloppy way. Prices are pretty typical of other shops in San Diego. Kind of a comfortable, cozy little place. They have a tasting bar and they do flights, but itís all from bottles.

Heard about this new bottle shop down the street from Toronado so I decided to stop in and check it out before heading up to Toronado. Atmosphere was typical bottle shop, people checking out bottles in the isles and a few others talking to the guy behind the counter. Service was decent. He asked if I needed help but I didnít so he went back to helping others. Quality seemed pretty good, nothing out of date I saw and the shop was well maintained. Selection was pretty good but nothing overly amazing like some of the other shops I had visited in the last few days. Prices were a bit up and down, some bottles lower than the average while others were higher. Overall a quality shop for the area, I would return in the future.

Laid back, small bottle shop with a well stocked regional selection. Tasting room that allows dogs is a nice touch. Service is knowledgeable and helpful if you need it. Prices seemed a bit high, but not outrageous.

Not a bad place but I wouldnít travel across SD to get to it. Really nice feel inside though with a decent selection. Bartender wasnít particularly knowledgeable and didnít think Hops existed outside of the US but apart from that not a bad place.

Looks like I rated the wrong location last time. This one is in Little Italy a block from the new Ballast Point and not off of University near 30th. Another major difference is that these guys have a tasting bar. They donít really have any taps but they do provide taster flights. When I was there they had two different ones, each one of three beers from a different brewery. One of them were cans from Modern Times. They have a fair amount of bottles to buy as well a a whole shelf of glassware. The beer selection is pretty well thought out. They donít have the largest selection in town and the space isnít used all that well in my opinion but you can find some good stuff in there. Tilquin gueuze, 3 Fonteinen Intense Red, 3 Fonteinen oude gueuze, some Fantome, and a lot of locals. If youíre into glassware they also have three or four of the different Duvel glasses as well as a bunch of others. Prices are all fairly high but the selection, location, and service are all good.

This is a very nice and open store with lots of incredible beer and a couple of draft lines with a large seating area. Almost all of the beer here is warm, but there are a few coolers as well. Kind of a strange setup with all the beer tightly in the back corner (to avoid light maybe?) but itís a great store with friendly knowledgeable staff.

Wow, can be a tricky place to find parking. My only visit I lucked out and found a spot right on India Street. Cool space with cold storage and room temperature shelves and a beer bar tasting area. It seems to have a good deal of open floor space but it can still be tight around the small beer isles. They have a nice assortment of local and west coast brews but too much of it is kept at room temperature where fragile pale ales and the like fading away into hop obscurity. The place has an impressive international selection from New Zealand, Japan and the like which is cool beans in my book. Again though I see expensive international pale ales, IPA, fragile German styles sitting out at room temp. I would hate to plunk down $9 or more on one of these only to find out they are way past their prime, so I didnít. The staff I encountered was super friendly and helpful even with place fairly busy. Even with the draw backs to this place Iíll be back for sure.
