66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 Camons (129) Hasselager, Denmark | March 10, 2012 Big open shop area, mainly focussed on wine but with a fine beer selection aswell. Bombers mainly from the local breweries, aswell as a decent import section. Not as good selection as liquormalt, but i found some bottles that they didnt have. Friendly service, fairly priced aswell. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 EithCubes (215) New Jersey | March 19, 2011 My first taste of Boulder. Clean, large, lots of space and laid out. Focus def seems to be wine. Service was great! Looked like almost all the singles (not many) were refrigerated, just blows my mind to see all those brands not distributed farther east. Had to stop myself from drooling at the RR’s; still, easily below places like Liquor Mart. In and out quickly, easy location. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 adnielsen (325) Fort Collins, Colorado | October 13, 2010| Updated July 20, 2011 Pretty decent beer selection. Boulder doesn’t have a real great beer store but this one is adequate. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 3fourths (1082) Straßgiech, Germany | January 4, 2010| Updated July 18, 2012 better than they used to be. prices lower than liquor mart by $1-2, which is pretty significant. not the widest selection but usually something new and/or affordable so i’m not walking out consistently empty-handed like with other stores, and they keep the unfiltered unpasteurized beer in coolers. | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 alagnak (51) Littleton, Colorado | November 11, 2009| Updated July 18, 2012 Stopped in today@ lunch to check it out. Very open and tidy - nice ’feel’ to the place. Beers are well-organized on one side of the store - 4-5 cooler doors of bombers and singles and another 6 or so for craft (and some for macro). 2 are all Colorado beers. 2 one-off displays: Boulevard Smokestack rack and a little round table with ’new and interesting brews’ which I thought was a great idea (this table had the Elysian brews, Steamrworks Diablo, a few other seasonals). Service was great...immediately asked if i needed anyn help, when I said no, and clearly picked some interesting brews - he mentioned he had some Pliny in the back still. I’d just gotten back from Cali with some 2-week old, so no need for it, but spoawned a conversation about other goodies in back that he was jazzed to talk about. Prices are a buck or two above what I’m used to paying i the larger denver places (e.g. 6-something for PtE, 9 for Saison Dupont), but this may be common in Boulder as I don’t beer-shop here much. All in all, a really nice store with knowledgable/friendly/helpful service. Nice place. |
