66 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20
Often frequented when I lived down the street. Has a respectable service and its tap list is insane, as in they have a lot of taps but nothing is that rare or interesting. Iíve always felt a little uncomfortable whenever Iíve gone: it seems on any given night this place is crawling with bros and their obnoxiousness, but weekends are the absolute worst. They have good selections on their juke, however thereís usually a line for it so I had to endure Lady Gaga, Toby Keith and Flo Rider for half an hour. Food was filling but mediocre. Servers are nice but appear to be a bit on the uninformed side.

Great selection, friendly staff, and their newest feature is an Android app to track the beers on tap. Food is decent bar fare. Pizzas are pretty good.

Great selection, love the staff, but unfortunately the food is just OK. Itís nice to get an independently run place in where a corporate place used to be. Definitely worth a trip!

Nice changing selection of draft and bottle beers. Food is meh, but Kristin (who works the weekday afternoons) is nice and is willing to talk beer. Certainly a "go-to" place in Tempe.

If I do a book on lesser known bars around the country, I would likely include this one. A short drive from Tempeís university hotels, with ample parking, close to the highway. A medium sized place, busier than they could handle at lunchtime with us older guys dropping in. About 24 taps, several with a good selection of lesser known names, an improvement from the web selection. Oh, 60-70 bottles with again an attempt to provide drinkable craft brews that may get lost in the shuffle. Glazed over windows, this is an old school bar, and a welcome supplement to the big chain restaurant/bars about town.

Reminds me a lot of the way basements are arranged in the midwest. Feels very rundown, but comfortable. Their food isnít that impressive, but the taps are decent and the service is solid.

old run down beer bar. i could see it getting rowdy at times. i lost count @ 54 beers on the menu. iím sure there were more. i didnít see any of the rare/high end stuff the previous guys were talking about. food is decent for the concept and itís location but... mediocre at best. service was quite perky but uninformed. lots of potential...

Boulders right now has
2 Dogfishead Handles and keeps a constant rotation of 90 minute and then a season tap as well. Stone IPA is also a constant constant.
Other Breweryís on tap include
Taps are on constant rotation with new beers on tap every week.
Occasionally they have some world class beer in bottle. I would like it if they kept bottles in a more frequent rotation but I blame the lack of knowledge in the customer base for this problem. Obviously if more than half the staff new more about what they were serving, this wouldnít be a problem.
The best thing about this bar is its ability to take suggestion and make it a reality. The staff is very open about what they can get and if you ask enough... or can offer a compelling reason, they will almost always take that suggestion.
Lately, They have added Vegetarian options, changed the menu around and have added at least 10 new recipes. I am at boulders constantly because of the Value of the beer. Stone IPA for 3.50 a pint isnít very bad. 5.00 for Ska Decadent is a high value beer as well.
MORE BOTTLES ERICK! Let me help!
