90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 Moutstainz (6) , | April 9, 2013 Took the free tour and really enjoyed it. The girl who led the tour was great. The tour itself was cool in that we saw the bottling line, and it featured a healthy dose of history (not to mention the history hanging on the walls all throughout the brewery). Everyone over 21 receives 4 tokens good for samples after the tour. The selection was standard Boulevard product, but only an idiot would complain about free beer, right? I want to come back for the Unfiltered Tour. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 fluffheady (46) Chicago, Illinois | April 9, 2013 I have been on a lot of brewery tours. This one is definitely above average. We took the free public one (as it is apparently IMPOSSIBLE to get on the "unfiltered" tour). Our girl was bubbly and really knowledgeable. They show you the bottling line and the event spaces are really nice. Do it if you’re in town because it’s free, short, informative, and they give you a free tasting at the end. One thing to note is that although it says "first come first serve" on the website and that reservations are only needed on Saturday - IGNORE THIS. YOU CAN MAKE A RESERVATION FOR ANY TOUR ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, AND YOU SHOULD. We showed up 40 minutes early on a Sunday for the 2PM. It was full, so we got 3:30 tickets. Those were gone by 1:45PM. Other than being pretty annoyed at how the tours fill up (normally first come first serve means people have to wait in a physical line. Just provide the proper info!), it was a really nice tour. We WILL be back for the unfiltered tour. We were slightly disappointed that really nothing special was in the tasting room. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 high_on_hops (23) Burlingame, California | April 7, 2013 The free tour is well worth the reservation. They take you through the brewery itself as well as their bottling facility and various rental halls featuring lots of memorabilia. You get several free tasters at the end of the tour, but I was hoping more of them would be either experimental brews or otherwise hard-to-find selections. The staff is friendly and they also have a great gift shop. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 beastiefan2k (152) Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | March 5, 2013 Been on tours of all sort a few times. Visited the brewery a few times, and the brewery store. Blvd is an awesome brewery and they treat people right. bar tap often has something experimental on tap. Gift shop is nice. I would definitely recommend a tour for anyone. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 RobertDale (89) Lansing, Kansas | January 11, 2013 Recent tour. Book this tour well in advance. Interesting but still a typical brewery tour. They will include a number of samples after the tour. Nice gift shop. Worth a visit. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 arkurzynski (72) West Bend, Wisconsin | October 21, 2012 Stopped thinking there would be a taproom for visitors, but was just for tour-goers. Not their fault, but disappointing nonetheless. But, thanks to a kind employee, we were still given a couple of small pours. Overall, from a glance around, seemed to be a pretty average brewery. Place was packed from the tour. Selection on tap was fairly lackluster with a few one-offs. Don’t know if I would go out of my way for a tour other than to have a few pours. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | June 30, 2012| Updated July 2, 2012 Massive, commercial, hi tech place, at least compared to the 10 barrel one man operations I’m used to seeing in Belgium. Friendly volunteer tour guides, and of course free beer at the end. Worth a stop. I am in total shock, though, that the stupid and crappy Missouri beer laws don’t allow them to sell beer at the brewery. That needs to change. Thanks very much to theisti for getting me onto the tour at very short notice. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 rhialistic (13) Denver, Colorado | April 2, 2012| Updated July 2, 2012 Fantastic tour, excellent state-of-the art pristine brewery, implementation of "green" technologies and principles, great samples at the end. Got to meet one of the VPs, too, very nice man and well-run operation. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 jcnielsen (138) Kansas City, Missouri | March 26, 2012| Updated July 2, 2012 Loved the tour. One of the best brewery tours that I’ve been on. Got to try a couple of brewery-exclusive beers after the tour. The only downside with Boulevard is that you have to book a tour so far in advance to get in. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 Strebs (104) St. Louis, Missouri | February 12, 2012| Updated July 2, 2012 Boulevard is the real deal. I was fortunate to have been invited on a VIP tour, and I came away very impressed. The facilities are first rate and their products are approaching the level of quality at more highly regarded breweries. I would compare Saison Brett with any saison brewed in Belgium. |
