70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 JanLaursen (44) Copenhagen, Denmark | July 12, 2012 A battered but charming room. A decent selection of mostly local beer on tap. Some Begian beers sold on bottles, but the bottle selection wasn’t that impressive. I sat there for a few hours a saturday afternoon on my own and had a great time with a few pints and good service. If food is served there I didn’t notice. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 nate2g (443) Boomtown! / Waikato, New Zealand | May 26, 2012 Impossible not to admire this lovely pub. Interesting cask range, awesome whisky selection and brilliant staff. Popular with locals and visitors alike. Crackin’. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 onkelgobber (10) Edinburgh, | May 20, 2012 Fantastic original pub in the center of Edinburgh. Well worth visiting for whisky and beer. The whisky selection is second to none and the beers on tap are interesting and varied. The staff is friendly and knowledable. The room is a bit battered but that also adds to the charm. Not much seating but usually room for everyone. No food. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Maverick34 (42) New York | May 7, 2012 Fantastic bar to go to for real ale in Edinboro. Old school, great selection, tourists and regulars. Go when you’re there. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Brugmansia (257) Jylland, Denmark | April 26, 2012 Visited this pub on the Great Graig Pubcrawl Tour 23/4-2012.
A small traditionel pub in the area of the castle. Very coisy, and friendly place with great staff, they know their stuff of the beers. Can at times be a bit crowded, and have few seatings with small tables. They serve great pies for lunch. Besides they have a bottle selection as well and a huge whiskey selection. | 74 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 imdownthepub (253) Banbury, England | April 25, 2012 Traditional bar close to the tourist masses, it was packed both times we visited. Seemed to be a reasonable choice but it was hard to get to the bar. The beers were in decent nick, the ambiance is friendly. Really is worth a visit. | 82 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 worldbeertaste (73) , England | April 19, 2012 They have a strange way of pouring their beers. Pressuried cask. Beer tastes great. Staff is super friendly and knows what they are talking about. The atmosphere is ok. Its not your atypical pub but the bottle selection is top notch. Would reccomend it. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 rosenbergh (334) Helsinki, Finland | March 2, 2012 8 casks. Lots of bottles. Cozy small pub. Reasonable prices. Nice location. Friendly service. I guess that’s all and that’s also what it takes. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 mark1969 (22) edinburgh, Scotland | February 1, 2012 Excellent real bar . The staff knows there product . Also very passionate beer and good service . Overall a place to be for good beer . | 74 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 AshtonMcCobb (94) Edinburgh, Scotland | February 1, 2012 Lovely old pub in the middle of Edinburgh’s home town. The speciality is cask ale and some Scottish and international bottles. They seem to have summer and winter beer festivals and seem to get beers that other bars don’t. Would highly recommend it, though steak pie was a bit small. |
