A very nice place with a big terrace on the roof. Excellent tap beers and good bottle beers too.

I went here so much times! love this place, i have lots of friend working there and also if it is a little bit i’m not going the selection has always been huge and with the high number of handpumps you can try as much beers as you want, i’m corius to try the new revelation’s cat beers( they also have a craft-brewery). If you go in Rome you can’t miss it

I came to this place because of the high reviews but it didn’t really live up for the hype. I agree that they have an OK selection and ambiance, but the staff is absolutely rude, unprepared and ignorant. Don’t waste your time.

Brasserie 4:20 is located near a run-down part of the district of Trastevere on the western side of Tiber river. From outside, it is very hard to tell that inside is a modern beer restaurant with the most impressive beer selection in the whole of Rome. I visited the place during weekdays and towards the evening the place filled up with local beer enthusiastics. Unfortunately, the otherwise nice service staff consting of just two persons was completely outnumbered by the sheer number of customers. The selection encompasses a large selection of different ales on tap as well as plenty of bottle aged beers; the oldest bottles date from late 90s! The food is hearty and of good value, but the tap beer and especially the bottles are expensive even in Roman scale.

Went to the bar with my wife and two kids februar 2011. They got sparkling water. Friendly staff. The food was fair.

If you like modern and elegant places the 4:20 is what you are looking for. The prices of the bottles are too high for the italian average, but the ambiance and the staff make the expense worthwhile. The owner is not one of the best person I’ve ever met, but his passion for beer (and money) is what make the place a benchmark of Rome’s craft beer scene.

We made a special effort to get over to this place, it was along a dark road, at night but the neon sign was a welcome indication that we were there. Inside it was warm and friendly, we had booked and we were reserved a table right at the far end. It was a bit of a mission to get to see the beer taps to try, my Italian wasn’t up to the job really, but got there in the end. The food is reasonable and the ambiance is good, I would have prefered to be in the bar area, but we enjoyed the experience anyway.
