A very nice place. I hogt here just as they opened in the morning so there only me and two more customers there (one of which turned out to be Tom from Monkís Cafe in Philadelphia). Had Black Albert, Pannepot Grand Reserva and Struiselenesis. Outside of that the beer list is decent but there arent a lot of hard-to-find stuff. Didnít eat.

The great sadness here is that Erasmus was one of the first beer bars in Belgium, owner Tom Allewaerts ranking among the greatest of the local enthusiasts who made Brugge and Belgian beer synonymous. With Tomís retirement it was taken over by another family member, who appears not to have noticed what made the place great. So now it is dull, I am afraid.

I guess this place isnít what it used to be, but some of the reviews here saying that it is of no interest are perhaps a little harsh. Only a little though. There are perhaps a dozen respectable bottles on offer, better than most restaurants in town. I think I had a Witkap. Small terrace with a nice view. Even by Belgian standards, the service here was unforgivably slow, especially since there were only 10 tables full on my visit. After I waited half an hour for the second beer I ordered, the waitress spilled an entire tray of beers on the ground and I gave up and paid my bill. Beef was dry. Tourist prices. Not much to reccomend really.

We have visited this place, a couple off times and also stayed at the hotel some of times. Had my first Black Albert here when it was first availbel in those days ;D
They have a nice selection of belgian beers both tap and bottle. Beers on tap served in good condition. Being placed in the city center, parking is a bit away, but still within walking distance. A nice place to stay if you have a couple of days in Brugge.

A bit of a new, modern place compared to the surroundings. Service is friendly and the food is pretty tastey. Price wise it is fully acceptable for the quality. Beer selection is good too. Overall a good place for a wee rest, food with a matching beer.

Some beers on tap. Some more in the bottle list. A modern restaurant/bar in a hotel. Nothing special about it. It isnít bad, but there are so many good places in Brugge that this one just doesnít feel like something else.

Visited this place, and stayed at the hotel a couple of times. Nice selection of mainly belgian beers, beers on tap served in good condition and a nice bottle selection as well. Being placed in the city center, parking is a bit away, but still within walking distance. A nice place to stay if you have a couple of days in Brugge, close to town center, and a nice bar to have a beer in, before climbing to bed :-)

Review from Dec 2009
We went here 3 times and pretty much it was for one beer. Also, if it werenít for the service on the third time the score would be much higher. Let me explain.
Modern atmosphere with nice and comfortable seats. When we entered each time we were asked if we were their to eat or just for the beer, and when we replied "Beers" we were quickly seated and treated as nicely as we could expect. Selection was very good, all quality and quite a few vintages. Many Christmas beers on tap and bottle as it was the season. We saw that they were offering a 1988 vintage of De Dolle Stille Nacht, so we got one along with two other xmass beers. The Stille Nacht was amazing and brought us back the next day, and then a third. On the third day we were greeted by the same waiter who knew what we wanted and went back to get it. He came back with 2 light colored Stille Nachtís and assured us that they wee in fact the vintages. I privately confronted him saying that I knew that the Stille Nacht has been blonde for a few years and we were paying for the same dark colored 1988 Stille Nachtís we had gotten 2 days in a row. He insisted that they were the same and instead of causing a scene, I sat down and drank the still wonderful beverage. At this point all he had to do was charge us for the regular Stille Nacht (3.50 Euro) and I would have been fine with it all. BUT NO!! we were charged the 6.50 for the 1988 vintage (actually on the receipt). I could have complained more but just left instead. Still had a wonderful time and got to try a beer that was fantastic. thanks for listening to my rant, it feels better to get it off my chest. I probably would end up going back just to see what they had for vintage beers alone.
