November 2012. Very crowded and noisy. A vast selection of Swiss beer but nothing too innovative. Impatient waitstaff and the flip-top in one of the bottles we ordered wasn’t properly sealed, but that’s probably not the restaurant’s fault. Some stuff that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city so worth the visit.

Don’t miss this place when you are at Zurich and if you have not been there before. Swiss beers only, no rarities, but the greatest choice countrywide in a restaturant.

Good, central location. I counted 101 beers on the menu, seven of which were on tap). Most or all were Swiss, and a very good selection it was indeed. Food was just average, though.

Large brasserie in Hauptbahnhof (main trainstation), "outdoor" seating which allows smoking- and smoke free inside resturant are. Large selection of beers, 7 on tap and at least 100 other swiss beers on bottle- not much foreign (but I was here for Swiss beer anyway. Food, mostly meat based german style dishes, large portions Sometimes service was a bit slow, but overall ok. Worth a visit if you are in Zurich

Upstanding pub in main area of Zurich HB train station. Good beers on tap and friendly service. Enjoyed the Halden Gut Lager.

(Visited 11/2011): Brasserie Fédéral is located inside the Hauptbahnhof (train station) in the heart of Zürich. The interior is large and open with elegant architecture and a stained glass ceiling. There is a bar in the center of the space with seating all the way around, with the rest of the place devoted to table seating. This place has around 8 beers on draught including Halden, Falken, Ittinger and Eichoff. The bottled selection accounts for around 100 mostly Swiss beers. Service in a busy train station around dinner was pretty good. Our server was somewhat knowledgeable about the beers and made recommendations on food. Food at Brasserie Fédéral is decent. We had porkchops and pork cordon bleu, both of which were alright. Overall the convenience of the location and large beer list make this spot a worthwhile visit.

Convenient, and they have a wide range of Swiss beers, but they lack in the micro brews and the service tends to be quite languid (which for being located in a train station, seems amusing).

Inside of the central Zurch’s main station. Crowded, elegant, large interior, much graceful one. Optimal chosen of beers (even if someone on the list he was not available in the cellar). Ideal for pauses or during attended. Extraordinary decorated ceiling. Self-service food.

Big, boxy, crowded and popular. All that is missing is good beer. Endless number of mainstream stuff that failed to impress me. The food was mediocre, but hearty and heavy. I wouldn’t say this is a must visit, but given the lack of proper options, this is OK and certainly will increase you rates by alot. Prices were good
