Visited July 2013. Visited the tap, Zum Weisbrau, right next to the brewery, and sat in the back in a small outside enclosed area that served as the biergarten. Not too scenic and just a bit scruffy. There was only a small group of friendly locals at one table. The inside was like a typical German restaurant/bar as I remember from walking through it. I had the Rohrbrau Helles on draught and Straubinger Weisse in bottle, both good. I wouldn’t say this place was worth going out of your for, nor was Straubing, at least beerwise. The Good Beer Guide Germany states that the other brewery in town, Karmeliten, beers are easy to find but I did not find this to be the case. Arcobrau seems to dominate. In fact, after walking around the town center for quite a time I had hard time finding any decent place to have a beer. Rohrl is a 10-15 walk from the station.
