clean and bright dining area filled with locals, and out back a delightful patio in a relaxed setting. they offer the kellerbier on draught and in bottles year round, and the heller bock in the fall, and both are world-class. the food menu is very non-traditional, with many fish and chicken options. drie kronen, two doors down, makes subpar beer and is not a place I stop at anymore, but Hohn is a place I make sure to visit every time I’m in Franconia. The kellerbier is very Zoigl-like.
You’d never know that the brewery is wood-fired to look at the place. The pub, hotel, and garden are remodeled and modern, but not even close to being as high-end as the place next door (Drei Kronen). The outdoor patio area is not traditional, it has small metal garden furniture instead of long wooden tables. Lots of flowers and greenery, pretty. Very large complex. Unfortunately they only have one beer at a time and the guest tap was an Erdinger, which is odd for Franconia.
I was the only customer, drinking their single beer. But that beer was wonderful, and the service great. Worth a stop. Quick by bus 907 from Bamberg station. Perfect stop on the way to Knoblach.

A nice village pub and restaurant with a nice beergarden. The one and only house beer served is Görchla, a good beer, better than most beer at Drei Kronen, the neighbour brewery. (Visited June 30th 2011)
Visited december 2009, with my parents. Very traditionel, cosy village brauhaus, with beers, that are well served and in ok condition. They do food as well, but we didn´t eat there. Very nice that the 2 brewpubs in Memmelsdorf are within walking distance ;-)
Ample and bright village pub, popular with locals; presumably nothing has changed here since the 1960’s. One quite mediocre house-beer is the regular offer all year round, in autumm You can enjoy a quite nice Bock-Bier here. Even though not the best and most typical franconian Gasthaus, this pub is far better than the Drei Kronen neighbour. Still recommended!
Another small brewery on Memmelsdorf’s Hauptstrasse, a few meters only from Brauerei Drei Kronen. They only brew one beer at Höhn, a severely unfiltered landbier, called Görchla. It was full of character and fruity esters, with yeast swirling about dancing with the hops. Well, you can see my rating for more info. Bottles are available for purchase in many formats, even 3-liter bottles! We didn’t eat here, since we had already eaten at Drei Kronen, but the food being served around us looked very interesting and to similar high standards as imposed by Drei Kronen. The whole place is very classy for the Franconian countryside, even the bathrooms, which were by far the cleanest, shiniest, and most modern I saw on my trip. When visiting Memmelsdorf, you must visit these 2 small breweries! Both are right in the center of town, looking onto the main bus stop, so you have no reason to avoid either. ;)
Visited on 18/7/2012. Stopped by for a beer in this wood panelled bar. Barmaids were friendly and efficient and the Görchla beer was drinkable too. Didn’t eat but the plates coming out of the kitchen did look appetising. Worth a visit.
