Visited 02/2014, GC Tour de Rheinländle. Spent a good while in the bustling Schwemme cum shop booth, very entertaining. Not all Köbes are age-old Rhenian natives, as in many a Kölsch brewpub some are Greek, Croats etc. who can pull off the same attitude. More than decent Alt, nice to watch the hands-on wood kegging and interaction between bar personnel. Nice and quiet area not too far off the Rhine, might have lunch here next time.

Sat right in front of the bar and saw the two wooden kegs the beer was pouring from. They changed one while I drank 2 Alts. Not as much wood as the other places. Had Carnival decorations. Service was fine again. Place wasn’t that full at 5, although it is off season.

Nice food suitable with the beer they served us. Every time i visit Dusseldorf i have a smal "pit stop" there to have a pint!

At Füchschen you certainly get the typical "Düsseldorfer Alt" experience with great Altbier and a nice ambiance. Beeing ser ved by a "Köbes" is an experience itself :-)

Visited in 2012. Traditional German beer restaurant, with a really nice alt bier. The food was delicious and the service was polite and good. The Greek waitor really helped us alot to our menu choice... Worth a visit for sure...

The brewpub is located little bit outside the Altstadt and due to this fact not that many strolling-by tourists are to be found inside. The waiters are neutral / unfriendly / snobbish like many (not all) in Düsseldorf. The atmosphere inside the brewpub is very comfy and good though it may be a little bit crowded during meals rush-hours. Their Alt was delicious fresh from tap, way better than out of the bottle. Not sure if I would come back a second time but I definitely enjoyed the time there.

A decent sized beer hall just north of the central market. Service was good and they were helpful understanding the bottles available. Only the alt on tap at my time of visit. Didn’t try the food. Prices were in line with other spots around town.

Atmospheric and friendly with lovely bright malty alt served from the barrel. The standing-only drinking hall in the front is ideal for a quick round, but the restaurant area is huge.

Visited September 2012 with Chinoskillzian.

This is on the north end of the Altstadt and seems to be a popular spot. We were there pretty late in the evening on a quest to try every Altbier that evening. Upon arriving I asked to try all their house beers, to which they gave me attitude and asked if I meant an Altbier. I asked if they make anything else in addition to the alt and they came out with a bottle of hefe. The hefe wasn’t all that good, at least compared to the Alt. It was called silver fox. They also have a stuffed fox in a glass container above the bar. The place was pretty open and didn’t have the same feel as the other brewpubs. Service was a little gruff but not disrespectful or anything.
