Visited wed 4th March .. Nice place in the city centre but just as others .. The problem is that their Alt is a bit more anonymous than others .. But for sure worth to include it in a dussendorf pub crawl ..

Visited on a Thursday afternoon. Short walking distance from Schlüssel, Zum Uerige and Kürzer. Large traditionnal place with a bunch of seating inside, but it was completely full at 16:00. We managed to find a place outside. Service was quick (a little less than in other German places) but super rude. My girlfriend had their house lemonade (which was really good), but he seemed really upset that she didn’t took a beer. Bastard. We had another server after who was much more respectful. Their Alt was average. We didn’t try the food. Price were in line with other places at 1,90 euros / 25 cl. The least interesting Alt place I visited while in town, but I will give a 2nd chance if I came back in town.

A small walk from the main alt places. Very big place with a huge terrasse. Feels authentic and it gets crowded quickly. Service was friendly. The best alt in town, do not miss this place!

Hit this up on my tasting tour, in terms of establishment had a lot of locals eating dinner I was just drinking. Of the four brewpubs in the old town this alt was number 4 on my list, and damn good.

Really popular place in downtown Düsseldorf, we had to share a table on a wednesday afternoon. They have a nice terasse which was also crowded. The beer was the best alt I had, by a clear margin. Service was kind, our waiter spoke english. Prices were in the norm, didn’t eat anything. If I were to return to Düsseldorf, I would hang here.

Came here on a Saturday before lunch time. Terrace was crowded, but we managed to find two spots, next to some downright wasted Germans. It was funny at first, but after the most drunk guy asked for the 4th time where we were from, it got a bit boring. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. No menu, so all you get to order is the regular alt and that’s it. Waiter was polite enough to ask if I wanted a second one, not just putting a new beer in front of my face, assuming I knew how the game worked. (Which by then I actually did know.) Maybe next time it’s better to go on a work day, have some lunch maybe. Would have appreciated other beer options, but the lack of a beer menu made me miss out on the Silberfüchschen. Alas.

Very traditional Altbier Haus. Sky Sports on TV, Very friendly service, still only 1 beer on tap. Best atmosphere of all the Altbier places I visited.

Visited 02/2014, GC Tour de Rheinländle. Spent a good while in the bustling Schwemme cum shop booth, very entertaining. Not all Köbes are age-old Rhenian natives, as in many a Kölsch brewpub some are Greek, Croats etc. who can pull off the same attitude. More than decent Alt, nice to watch the hands-on wood kegging and interaction between bar personnel. Nice and quiet area not too far off the Rhine, might have lunch here next time.
