Being in a four start hotel, the wifi works!
Other than that, sample the beers and leave.
Brews a light and a dark, neither very good. Again have visited twice during 2014.

Strange location for a brewpub on the second floor of the Sofitel Hotel. Only an unfiltered (I think) light which was very nice but very expensive. Worth going for the tickers or if youíre staying there.

This brewpub is located right smack in downtown Shanghai, at the Sofitel, next to the pedestrian mall. It does look like a swank 4 star lounge bar, with overpriced drinks (60 yuan, around 10$) for a 300 ml pour...at least they gave you peanuts and olives, and some sort of dried salami...or was it a fruit???. I kind of liked the bead curtain theme around certain tables. English is a limiting factor here, but barman was friendly.

What a crazy experience. Itís this tiny upscale, swank hotel lounge filled with suits. Much more of a scotch crowd than anything else. Has nice blue glass beads separating your booth from neighbors but is otherwise this is a heartless space. The beer is absolutely horrible (infected kit beer) and not only do they taste bad but youíll pay dearly, US$11 per pint/$8 for a small glass. Of stuff you can barely choke down. They should really stop brewing or clean up their heartless beer.

Finest brewpub Iíve been to. Finest meaning a piano player, snacks you didnít ask for (eat them as itíll be on the bill even if you donít eat them). Feels more like a wine bar than a brewpub. Staff speaks english. Dark beer was good Ė even stouty, lager felt slightly acidic and may not have been a clean batch. A bit hard to find as itís on the second floor of a hotel and like said, really does not look like a brewpub, you may feel a bit under dressed with shorts and a t.
