Large brewpub located near the new bridge. Traditional iterior, great beer garden, terrace with nice view on Elbe and Dresden. Live music provided by the pianist playing greatest pop hits plus live mundial matches shown on the screen. The service was good, quick and helpful.Standard house selection on tap: Helles, Hefe, Dunkel and Zwickl. In the menu traditional German and Saxonian food. Quite good prices, good meals, nice beer. I spent nice evening there. Next to Watzke a must see for beer fan in Dresden.
Brauhaus am Waldschlößchen is a large brewpub located in the premises of an old brewery. The brewpub, located on the north side of the Elbe, is somewhat off the centre of Dresden, but is easily accessible by tram. There is also a large biergarten overlooking the river Elbe. A German tourist guide suggested that live music is provided regularly by a pianist playing a grand piano, which was also the case during my visit in January 2013. Both house-brews and other beers are available from tap. The standard selection seems to cover Helles, Dunkel, Hefeweissbier and a Zwickelbier. Of the two beers I tasted, the Dunkel was well-balanced and refreshing, but the Zwickelbier was rather uninteresting. Although Ratebeer lists some seasonal beers, none were available at the time of visit. The menu consists mostly of traditional german dishes - with a saxonian twist. A nice place to spend time, especially with a larger group. The service was friendly and swift.
5 brews of their own on taps. Big hall. Seems to be quite popular lunch/dining place. Food was good. Easy to reach by tram from Dresden centre. Good service and good beer. What else could you ask for? Big Biergarten with views to construction site of Waldschlößchenbrücke.
Large building above the main road on the eastbank of the Elbe, part of the former (larger) brewery. Fairly typical Hausbrauerei, lots of space inside and out, good value food, decent beers. The Zwickl is probably the best of the beers.
Visitet this place september 2011. Large typically german brewpub, the waiters dressed in traditonel clothes, and german music.. Very friendly staff, they do beers tastings and tell you a lot of the different beers. When we where there they had 5 different ones on tap, very fresh and well conditioned. They have a large menu card as well, but we didn´t eat though.
Large brewpub in the eastern suburbs of Dresden, high above the Elbe valley, in one remaining building of the defunct old Waldschlößchen Brauerei; the even larger, unfortunately shadowless beergarden offers good views to the the historic center of Dresden, nowadays spoilt by a lot of building (Waldschlößchen-Brücke, the reason, why Dresden lost the "World Heritage" award !!!). The beers are of average quality, but still good for a short break.....
