This is my favourite pub in Edinburgh, Scotland and pretty much is only topped by Delirium in my pub experiences! A fantastic selection of 300 beers from all over the world (with some notable mentions for tap - Franziskaner!!) Staff are friendly and more importantly actually know, and love, the craft themselves! This is an all round great experience! Must see if your in town!

huge selection of beers ! Every style of beer you know they stock. This bar gets extremely busy and the place itself is small but if you come on a reasonably quiet night or day its a really enjoyable bar. Great staff too!

Great wee bar, small space but the best selection of bottled beers I have seen in a single place, 419 at the last count! Fantastic place for wheat beer, Trappists, Lambics, American craft ales, Scottish beers and they listen when you have a suggestion that they do not stock. The friendly staff know their beer and are happy to make recommendations and answer questions. It can get very busy on the weekends or when they are showing European football(they have three screens) so get there early. From Wednesday through the weekend they also stock pretzels and other German breads from local baker falko & condermiester, highly reccomended!
The largest selection of beer you’ll find anywhere (for several hundred miles at least). If you’re looking for something in particular, unless they’ve ran out, they’ll have it or extremely friendly staff will recommend others. Gets extremely busy on certain days, as it’s relatively small, but if you can sneak in on a quiet weekday, very worth it.
Small corner bar with an amazing beer menu. Lots of interesting ales from all over the world. Multiple large screen TVs so you can choose which match to watch. Close to Nina’s Mini Market & Cloisters. One of the best beer venues in Edinburgh.
What an amazing place. Small and not very typical british.
I was there just after opening hour on a Thursday. Crowded after 30 minutes...
Not to many on tap but an amazing amount of bottles from all around The World.
Nice friendly and helpfull staff.
Placed a little bit outside the worst touristtrap places.
One of the best times I had in Edinburgh. This small but friendly place had a fine selection of beers, not least German, and a very friendly staff. Lot of student types, some of them German and football. I was served my very first Dogfish Head beer here! I’m staying in the next door hotel again if I ever go back, cause this was a splendid place to have a drink!
This previously ground-breaking bar has changed hands a lot of times in the last few years but the latest change seems to be a winner. June 2015 saw a new crew who clearly know how to run a bar, how to angle it clearly and how to stock it with an appropriate range of beers for 2015. I was educated about Scottish beer and beer knowledge generally for 20 minutes without repetition and 95%+ was accurate. Best Scottish brewers (though no BrewDog despite respect), no cask but plenty of bottle-conditioned. Fewer German, more Belgian. Oude Geuze and an Aberdonian tripel, plus quite a lot of stuff I had never heard of - a rarity nowadays. Cleaner than I remember it. Seems to be back on form.
