Visited mid-afternoon on a Wednesday the brewery was in full swing so place had that lovely malty smell but it was a bit steamy. Modern canal side brewery, 3 regulars and a seasonal available, service good, beer was better than average, food was tapas affair which looked nice although that was food envy from others. Like the place.
Visited on a Friday night in July ’08.
Quite a well furnished modern brewpub by the canals in the centre of Hamburg.
Good atmosphere - pretty busy, we just stood up around a table and worked our way through the house beers which were adequate.
Ok modern brewpub but nothing to rave over.
A modern brew pub in downtown Hamburg. The streets in this area were almost emtpy a late Monday evening in November 2009. We went inside, but did not stay long. There were few customers and the beer we tried were nothing more than average. Been there, done that!
Have visited this downtown brewpub a couple of times. Can at times be very crowded. It is a brewpub, with both regular and season beers, but it is more a restaurent, meaning they are not that much inte the beers. The food are lovely german dishes, if you are in the citycenter of Hamburg, it´s a nice place to make a pitstop.
Average beers, but a nice haven in central Hamburg.. Big place, with a modern interior. Big shiny coppers located in the centre of the pub. Big bar with a lot of seating areas. Food was OK, nothing special, as with their beers.
10th Dec 2014: Christmas market knackered, been walking around the bloody things for hours (drinking Gluhwein obviously), so needed a sit down and a beer. The place is festooned with more baubles than you can ’shake a big stick at’ and is very Christmassy throughout. We sat on the high stools just to your right as you walk in: the bar and brewing equipment in front of you and slightly to your left. Past where we were, it opens out into a more eating style area with plenty of room for large parties. Staff friendly, did not try any food, but it looked like huge portions of hearty fare. Tried three of the four on-tap beers on offer: not overly impressed with the brews. Good vibes from the bar but the beers let the place down a little.
Big brewpub fairly central placed, small patio overlooking the canal, and loads of seating inside. Nice seating inside, good spacing between tables. Wood, copper, brewing equipmet etc. 4 beers on taps, reasonal quality, but a little light and boring. Didnt eat. Service was good, abit highly priced, but not to bad.
A huge place and very busy when we visited, which resulted in slow service. It is decorated modernly, but still classic with stone floors and wall, and light wooden tables and chairs. 4 different beers on tap, some seasonal change. Small beers cost EUR 2,70 in 2010
