The first Brewpub I visited in Cologne when I was the last summer. I was the at noon so it was very quiet and there were very few people around. Like in most places in Germany, even then there was some smoking, but the place was so large and there so little people it didn’t really bother me. I really liked the look of the interior - it looked like a very authentic German beer-hall. The Kölsch is really decent, but doesn’t really compare to the greatest ones. Good experience overall.

A nice German bier garten at the rear of the pub/restaurant. We sat down in the bier garten and ordered two small glasses (200ml) of their excellent version of the Kölsch style, poured directly from a large wooden barrel. Polite service and rather relaxed atmosphere. Has got a few more beers on the menu than just their own brew. Located ten minutes’ walk from the Dom in a much more quiet area of Köln (visited with Frau Eva 22.07.2014).

Nice place, has a garden outback with a view into the brewery. Service was kind of blunt both times we were there but at least not outright rude which was nice. I wanted to hate the kölsch but I must admit it is easily the best out there, and by a fair margin. We were there twice, once to see Germany eliminate France during the world cup so the ambiance was pretty tip top. Will absolutely return.

Had there been for lunch on a Saturday. The brewpub looks very charming and welcoming, liked the feeling in the Biergarten a lot. The waiter / Köbes was very nice and freindly, serving us very fast. I ordered "Himmel und Ärd" - probably the most regional food available for a tenner - very expensive. I didn’t like it I must admit - fried black sausages (looked liked something out of horses) and mashed apples and potatoes topped with some sauteed onions. My husband liked it kind of. But anyway the beer is nice, the place wonderful to relax and enjoy the day. Would not come back due to the high prices of food, but it was nice for a visit.

Typical german Kolsch bar: loads of wooden tables, small wooden seats. One of the better Kolsch available. Dont order anything but beer here, cause the Kobes will be rude.

Very nice brewpub on the ’outskirts’ of town. Well worth the walk from the Cathedral. A bit more flavorful kölsch than the Früh. Köbes were rushing here and there to be sure none of us had an empty glass. The family and I did not eat, but everything that was brought out of the kitchen looked wonderful.

We (Me, dad &’Barry) visited here on Thursday 26th March 2014. It had only just opened when we arrived and despite us having two beers it remained a very quiet place when we left. Getting here was a relatively short walk (10 mins) straight from cathedral nr Tourist Info’ along that road, easy to find and flat easy walk. As you enter you are in a main sort of tiled corridor this appears to be for those who are just drinking, with a very large room off to the right and smaller room to the left for eating & drinking. Beers were very reasonably priced, with six 200ml glasses (the only size option) costing us under €10. The beer and venue (it was a lovely old place) excellent, service was good, would be nice to return when it was a little livelier.

May 2013. Several big rooms here, and it is hot inside. Wood paneling and wood tables. I had goulash, which my fiance didn’t care for but I liked. Food and beer are expensive.
