Visited several times, first time just before taking part in Berlin Maraton 2009 :-) Lovely, cosy brewpub a bit away from the citycenter, but for sure worth going for. Outside is a lovely beergarden, and inside traditionel german brauhaus deko, rather spacy eventhough it doesn´t seems so. The food is traditionel german brauhaus food, but I haven´t eaten there yet, mayby next time, for sure I would like a revisit. Friendly staff and the beers were nice.

The best place in Berlin with the best beers in town. Nice sorroungins (ok, I love Spandau, but I’m writing honestly), the food is normal german brauhaus food with some Berliner special (boulette). Let’s come to beers: simply amazing. I really enjoyed the Havelbräu, and their schwarz is one of the best I had so far in Germany. A must-visit if you’re in Berlin. Don’t be afraid of the distance from city center, with just 30 minute s-bahn ride you are there. And their beer worth the detour! The best beergarten I’ve been after Spezialkeller and Wilde Rose in BAmberg

I can only imagine sitting outside enjoying the view in the summer with a fresh pils. Looking forward to do that someday. 2 beers avaliable. Pils and Dunkel - both in good condition and a little above average for Belin. Friendly and efficient service. A fine place to visit if in Berlin.

Brewery restaurant in Spandau next to Alt-Spandau U-Station. Includes two major biergartens, one in the front and main one in the back. Beers available were Havelbräu Helles and Maibock. Both were fairly good beers, Helles especially was tasty in the Biergarten at a temperature of 30C degrees. Food options are also good. The classic Solianka soup was great, meaty and tasty and more than enough to accompany my beers. Service fairly quick and friendly. Visit during the late afternoon. Well worth the visit. Check out the Siphon 1l bottle with beer of your wish to buy out with yo. Mine was Helles.

To find Spandau, take the S9 from Berlin city centre (or the U7 to Altstadt Spandau, which is closer). Walk up past the red town hall and the modern church of St Nikolai, and hopefully the tall redbrick chimney of the brewery should guide you in, over the dual carriageway. For the first-timer like myself, the Brauhaus ticks every box – large outdoor beer garden, busy but well-organised bar, huge plates of sausage. The brewing equipment seems to be woven into the building, with two giant coppers behind the bar. A wrong-turn to the toilet led to a foaming bath of beer in the conditioning room, frothing away gently.
Don’t expect Flanders-esque menus at the Brauhaus - they only make two beers at any given time. No agonising choices to be made here. Have one, then the other. Their regular is Spandauer Havelbräu Hell – an unfiltered lager. Each month, a special is also produced – which for my April visit was Spandauer Schwartzbier. There may well be nicer beer gardens in Berlin – and probably better brewers in and around the city, too. Sadly we never made it to Eschenbrau or Sudstern (we did go to Prater). Spandau may be a trip out of the centre, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Surprisingly large place, easy to find with different theaters of action, would be pleasant to sit outside but I’m early for that. LOUD and happy Stammkunden, and a pleasant if slightly snarky vibe. Service was fine and the beers have some real potential (the seasonal Schwarzbier easily validated the trip.). A bit out of the way, but Spandau does have a nice little dense Altstadt to blow an hour or two, and I think I’ll enjoy a summer visit much more.

Large building with brewery, restaurant/pub and hotel. Two or three beers available, the specials/seasonals can be just that: special. Good food.

Not so difficult to find. It looks like an old factory or brickyard from the outside, inside big hall with relatively small patio. Service was fast, beers were good. Bit pricey but worth of detour.

One of the most attractive and compelling brewpubs in Berlin because of it’s being housed in a finely kept Industrial Age colossus. Impressive enough on the outside, on the inside it’s shockingly spacious and surprisingly bustling on a Thursday evening. The crowd was pleasantly loud and lively with lots of folks just milling about talking with friends. With so many large brewpubs depressingly empty, this atmosphere felt great. Beer was average, though.

To me, the name Spandau only gave me vibes of a former prison (now demolished) and an English 80’s pop band (didn’t the singer go into the brewing business?), but now I know it’s actually a quite nice little old town in the northwestern outskirts of Berlin. The brewpub is fairly easy to find: take the tube to U-bahn station Altstadt Spandau, turn right after leaving the station, cross the dual carriageway and look for the red brick tower. Cozy place with wooden interior and the brewery equipment shining in all its splendour. Nice beergarden at the back. At our visit they had two of their own beers on tap: Havelbräu and Landbier (Dunkel). Service was friendly and efficient. Nice place a bit out of central Berlin.
