Nice setting with a huge terrace overlooking the town square, just in front of the castle. Many rooms inside too, all of which looked regal. Server was excellent; efficient, friendly and going out of his way to make our toddler feel happy. Sadly, the beer was lackluster (par for the course in the Heidelberg area though) as was the food. It still makes for a charming stopover if you want to visit Schwetzingen castle, but don’t expect well-polished lagers here.

I come here too on my lunch hour, so I have to be careful on my quantities, but this is a VERY nice place to sit and have lunch away from my fellow Americans in Heidelberg. The beers are quite good, and I’m particularly fond of their kellerbier.

Brewery in the middle of Schwetzingen. Fortunately I have to come here often on business. Only 3 beers to choose, but decent. The food is very good, especially the traditional Flammkuchen. In summer there is often a party outside on Thursday nights.

Outside Heidelberg, where I went to high school, this is an expansive restaurant and brewery near the historic sites of Schwetzingen. There’s no such thing as a bad brauhaus in Germany ... definitely worth the visit.

Brewpub acros from big Castel wich is worth visiting. There was only 3 beers on tap when I was there, and they are not that good, but the food was great.
