72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 TimE (217) Tokyo, Japan | June 24, 2012 Nice setting with patio looking over a horse jumping fence and the restaurant is attached to a horse stable. Beers were good, though not as outstanding as I was hoping. Service was not bad, but lady didn’t speak much English, though had good humor. Food was average tasting, but HUGE portions. Biggest I’ve seen in Germany. I would highly recommend the Peppersauce Shnitsel with a baked potato. My non-beer geek friends loved this place as well. A bit tricky to find, but worth the stop on a nice evening. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 bottleman (15) Idar-Oberstein, Germany | January 5, 2012 A very nice yet small brewery and tap. I think some of the best beers in the stae are from here. Great food and service. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Bierkrug (257) Idar-Oberstein (In Iraq), Germany | October 3, 2011 For all purposes the Brewery and the tap are just across the street from each other so I will call them the same place. It is a bit hard to find and at the northern edge of town. The pub was open while I was there and they have simple homemade food. Service was nice as well. There beers are some of the best in the entire area. Prices are very cheap. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Indutiomarus (36) Idar-Oberstein, Germany | September 3, 2011 A nice jewel and some of the best beers in the state. SImple but good food and very good service. | 70 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 shrubber85 (176) Greenville, Indiana | May 29, 2011 Small little restaurant on the edge of the village and part of a horse arena. Only about a dozen tables but very cozy. Good selection of Flammkuchens, schnitzel, and rumpsteaks - nothing spectacular but nice home-cooked food. All the beers I had were nice. A nice little place. |
