Me and Loz visited here on Saturday 15th March 2014. This was my first time here but hey-ho its a Brewdog bar so you pretty much know what yer’ getting. Polished concrete and a spartan uncluttered feel with a few sort of railway style raised booths. The bar is situated in a dark lower street the greyness of the local buildings perfectly suited to this place. I had an Abstrakt 14 Loz a Dead Pony Club (no surprise there then :-) ) the music featured the likes of Primal Scream & Massive Attack. The barman who served me was very pleasant. It was fine.

I ’m not crazy about this place. The one time I was there the selection of beer (on keg, which is what I usually go for) wasn’t really to my liking. Not a single stout and the best alternative I could find was boring. But then I was never a big fan of BrewDog to begin with. I found the music too loud and with the acoustics being as terrible as they are I had to struggle to hear the person talking to me from across the table. Not really crazy about the interior either. I probably won’t go there again even if I’m in the neighbourhood.

Industrial looking interior, helpful staff and good range of 6 brewdog beers plus 6 guest beers on tap, plus a wide selection of bottles available. Not too busy mid week, on the shortlist of bars to visit when in Edinburgh.

Nice pub, but staff wasn’t very friendly and the atmosphere was: "let’s just drink a few and go somewhere else"

A well renovated bar on the cowgate. This place used to be called ’Shooters’ and iit was hell. The interior is very hip now with reconstituted gym flooring as the wall pannels. Looks good. I’d say that this bar was in no small way responsible for the advanced acceleration of Edinburghs beer scene. It’s so well developed now and I reckon a lot of pubs were forced to up their game when Brewdog hit the scene. The place first opened serving impossible to get bottles and kegs from Mikkeller and Evil Twin. It used to be unfeesably cheap. Things have changed quite a bit and the standard of the taps is definitly less impressive. They put on good guest beers but fewer jaw-droppers and the prices have become somewhat unreasonable. The staff have historically gone two ways; good guys and dicks. Brewdog really want all of their staff to buy in to their bullshit which means there’s never a shortage of jobsworth arseholes with dead eyes issuing well rehearsed Brewdog propaganda. "They are treating us well here", "we are being fed well and every morning we are allowed out of the compound for fresh air". The good guys tend to leave sooner than the dicks. It’s a good pub. See if you can spot the dicks.

My first visit to a BrewDog bar, at my visit I was the only guest, so I had the full attention from the staff. Nice bottled selection as well as all the BrewDog beers you suspect to find.

Dropped in during the Edinburgh beer festival. Great vibe as soon as I walked through the door, and the staff were welcoming and helpful, especially considering the mass of people inside. Would love to have spent more time here.

A great place for craft beer (as opposed to real ales which are food in many pubs) in Edinburgh. Some excellent stuff, friendly knowledgable staff, cool atmosphere.

A great BrewDog in the depths of Edinburgh. A continually rotating list of BrewDog and guest beers on keg. A large bottle selection, often of some of the greatest beers in the world (in my opinion and often highly rated beers). A bit pricey, but its the big city.

This is a great addition to the Edinburgh beer scene, with 12 tap. split 6 brewdog core range 6 guest(either BD special or the likes of left hand mikkeller, and great divide) Bottle list is pretty hardcore for scotland with lots of good names like Nogne, De struise, and Mikkeller as well as onces from the US like stone and 3Floyds. Bottle prices are fairly resonable giving that many are specally imported (and that you are drinking in a Pub; so dont expect shop prices) but do expect to pay £12 for some beers.
I know Brewdog want to do there own thing, but once again theres no cask beer. I think this is a real shame and what stops this place from being a world class pub. When you deliberatly handicap yourself but not serving the kind of beer the UK excels at you exclude the possibility of selling some wondeful beers. This place could have been up there with the likes of Brasserie 4:20 in rome. None the less this is a great pub and im well glad to see it.
Sadly over time the priced seemed to have creeped up and up
