Brewfellas started out as a small craft beer distributor just over a year ago and has since evolved into a proper bar and even managed to double in size.
The dim lighting, exposed brick walls, and the miscellany of antique-y found objects, along with an eclectic music selection are reminiscent of a low-key hipster bar in Brooklyn. This is Nicosia, however, so this bar is actually frequented by a diverse demographic that includes young and old, male and female, and locals, tourists and expats alike. On any given night you’ll find at least one of the young owners working behind the bar, along with the Brewfellas friendly and eager bartender.
The available beers are carefully selected and range from the requisite pilsner for the uninspired, to a great variety of Belgian, Dutch and even US craft brews. A small number of especially hard to find bottles are also available and are usually aged. With the recent acquisition of a double tap, Brewfellas is now adding a different draught every 3-4 weeks and the selections so far have been awesomely bold.

It is overall a very enjoyable place to be. The staff’s dedication to good beer is heart-warming. Very friendly and honest, which is one of my main concerns. If in doubt, they will point you in the right direction. I’m glad that business seems to be going well, and that it provides an easy opportunity for people to get interested in non-mainstream beer. Best of luck!

In a city where most of the places try to offer everything and usually fail, its so refreshing to have a place that does one thing so well. Especially since that one thing is beer. Amazing atmospher, quality music and a solid selection for hop heads...do I need to say more??

One of the best beer spots in town, no doubt about it. Really central location, just a stone’s throw from the Ledras Str. Checkpoint. Good for a short or longer visit, interesting selection of delicious beers. Knowledgeable staff, they recommended a superb Evil Twin Biscotti Break as well as some super hoppy U.S. IPAs. Cozy atmosphere with the warm red brick interior and lots of dark wood, plus some quirky memorabilia. Unusual music with a mix ranging from Dixieland to old school country. I was told they also offer take away sales, which is good because their selection must be well over 100 different beers of all styles mostly from the US, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. Also 5 taps with some local Cyprus Microbrews, EuroLager, and usually 2 import micros. Also great whiskey selection, especially some hard to find bourbons.

Simply put: if you’re in Nicosia (or indeed Cyprus) and craving a craft beer, this is the place to go. Leagues ahead of everywhere else. The secret is that it’s run by beer geeks: Jim, the owner (ably assisted by Costas and Giorgellis), often gives the impression that he’d keep the place even without any customers, just so he’d have a place to drink (he imports all the beers himself)! Wish they did food as well, but you can order excellent pizza from Forno di Jenny’s up the road. In a word, invaluable.
