50 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 3/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 9/20 FishBizkit (6) Camp Hill, Pennsylvania | February 27, 2013 An average dumpy diner with the afterthought of a bar attached to it. This place used to be the Iron Skillet, a family style restaurant. Then was sold to the current owners, that turned it into a bar. From the first week of opening I've been there about 6 times for food over the course of the Brewhouse being open. The service has varied from reasonable to complete $#!*. The food as always been terrible and over priced, but I hear people talk about how good it is. I dunno... I dont believe my expectations are outrageous. Hot food should be hot, and not take 40+ minutes for pretty much anything. Or 20 minutes after I order tell me they're out of what I ordered. Or what had to be the crappiest cheeseburger I've had in a while.
The only redeeming thing this place has going is the beer selection. It's a bit expensive, but they finally started charging 6er pricing if you buy 6 to go. I'd rather go to Wegmans or Westies for beer, so I haven't been bask to the Brewhouse for about 9 months, but I doubt it's changed. I give this place a big ol' thumbs down. | 86 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 BigZig76 (2) | May 6, 2010 The dinning area is lame and boring. The food was great, and they had some different brews that normal places did not have. My wife and I both liked it. I would have rated it higher but the building from the out side is bit dumpy, and again thr dinning area lacks luster. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 f351c4v (77) Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania | September 14, 2008 Bar can be found not far from the Highland Park exit on US 15 in Camp Hill. Definitely has a neighborhood bar feel, close quarters in the bar area. Around 10 TV’s near the bar, as well. I visited on a Saturday, all were showing college football, which is a good thing. Tap selection is mostly micro’s, Victory, Green Flash, Big Bear... all high quality. Looks like a large bottle selection, as well. Worth stopping by if you’re in the area. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 abcfan (11) New Jersey | May 2, 2008 I left the night very dissapointed. The night started off with excitement after looking at their beer list. Then after being told my first two selections weren’t available, I settled on a Victory Whirlwind to go with dinner. Dinner was pretty good and was probably the highlight of the night. We later moved to the bar, where yet again, two more choices from the beer menu were not availabe. Finally I asked about the Bell’s Best Brown Ale that the were advertising on tap. The bartender told me they had it. Well, even though that is what the tap said, I ended up with a Hopslam in my glass. I may give this place a try again, but I should have gone to ABC, I know what to expect there at least. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 Nejhleader (71) Lemoyne, Pennsylvania | April 9, 2007| Updated April 11, 2010 This place has gotten better over time. They actually have some really good beers now as before they would say they did on their list but always be out. Food is still a little wanting but it is worth a stop for their selection of beer. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 ShKincaid (3) Pennsylvania | March 26, 2007| Updated April 11, 2010 What an awsome little place! Seen this place advertised and finally got a chance to get there with some friends from out of town. We were all VERY impressed with both the beer selection and quality of food. This is going to be a regular hang out!! |
