Took a date here a few years ago. Parking was on the street. The decor was modern. The food was very good and the bottle beer selection was good.

Nice place to grab dinner in the Akron area if your downtown. Not the best beer bar, but they do have an awesome bottle selection and some damn good pizza. The place is beautiful as well and would probably be a good spot to take a date if your in town.

(Visited 04/2010): Bricco is located in downtown Akron on West Exchange and Main, not too far from the Akron Aeros stadium. Metered parking is available nearby and I believe they have a valet at times.
The interior has a lot of brick and features funky artwork on the walls. There are also large windows affording a view of the street from nearly every area of the restaurant. The bar is in the rear and there are a few TVs and highboy tables. The rest of the space is devoted to table seating. They are definitely going for the hip and casual atmosphere.
The beer selection numbers around 100, all bottles. While nothing is available on draft, they do have a pretty good array of craft beers. Some examples include Thirsty Dog, Bellís, Stone, Rogue, Sierra Nevada and more. There are also several imports available.
Service was good on an early weekend afternoon. The place was not busy at all so the bartender was always present. I had to ask for a non-frozen glass but it was not a big deal.
I did not try any food on this visit, although I would like to go back and at least try some of the interesting appetizers I saw on the menu.
Overall this place is worth checking out in the downtown area. I am partial to 69 Taps which is about a block away because it is more low key (at least at that time of day) and has more emphasis on draught beer, but this spot is definitely nice.

Big, modern designed restaurant with an italian and spanish leaning menu. Not traditional Italian at all. The food was not bad, above average but a let down based on the descriptions from teh menu. Big list of beers with an international selection, but no real winners outside of some good midwestern micros and some widely distributed Belgian and German beers.
Sadly, beer served in a frozen glass. Food was good, if not amazing, they have the most overspiced marinara Iíve ever tasted Table service was a little slow, as the waitress appeared distracted by a large group in a back room.

Good italian restaurant with some unique items. Surprisingly good beer menu. not a huge draft list, but a decent, well varied bottle list. prices are what you would expect from a somewhat upscale restaurant.

Located near the University, this is a great place to grab dinner. They have awesome pizzas and a fairly sophisticated entre menu. The real gem though, is their bottle list, which is full of beers from the great lakes region. There wasnít much on ratebeer when I travelled here, so I was happy to stumble into this place for dinner and end up having a few bottles of Two Hearted.
