One of the first Bricktown establishment, itís actually kind of sad that the beer offered are of such a low quality they are close to undrinkable. The food is quite good, though Jakeís Ribs BBQ served here is nothing compared to the original Jakeís in Chickasha. Once again, itís OK for food and music, but the beer, be warned, has always been terrible. How many people visit the Bricktown Brewery and come away with a negative impression of craft beer as a whole? Seems like every batch has high loads of diacetyl.

October í03: Cool surroundings in a vast old brick building in the heart of downtown OKC, I enjoyed going here a few times. The beer was pretty good and the food was too. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. UPDATE, Nov í06: What a disappointing encore for me. The beers were sour and off balance. The restaurant itself is oddly lit and not as clean as it should be. Their menu is pretty shallow, although my entree was pretty dam good. Bricktown has the potential to be as good as say Upstream in Omaha ... but it doesnít live up to the promise of a neat historic location.

Well, not much good to say about this place. Beers were not that good and neither was service. Skip this place and head to the Tapwerks Bricktown.

A large brewery with a restaurant downstairs and a larger bar and dance area up stairs. The place seems like is caught in between what it wants to be... Service has been a bit slow on my few visits. Six taps available with one that is rotating, the beer is subpar overall. Food is good, pretty standard for a brewpub. Prices are fine for the area, but I donít really stop in except to tick.

Well, I didnít expect much from this place when I went in to try it out, but I think even less of it now. Only four of their beers were on tap, and as I looked around I saw almost everyone in the place drinking BMCs. I should have figured it out right there. But no, as a true beer connoisseur, I decided to give the sampler a go. The beers were just plain bad, with too much water and too little ingredients. The burger I had there was decent, but there are not too many ways you could screw up a burger. Prices were not too steep, and I think the beer sampler only cost about $1.50, which was more than reasonable. Definitely an older crowd, in which I did not fit in at all.

Visited on a Monday afternoon before a Hornets game. Nice place. Beers were okay, but nothing was spectacular. Beer prices were fantastic: $1.50 for a draw and $1.50 for a sampler. The only thing that was disturbing was the fact that there were birds flying around inside the area with the brew kettles and fermentation tanks. I imagine this is a pretty fun place to hang out on a weeknight.

I only stopped in to have a pint and when I inguired as to what the &quo;seasonal&quo; was and I was told that it was an unfiltered wheat. That didnít sound good to me, so I asked what the Blah-Blah-Blah Ale was and the best he could tell me is that it is a &quo;lightish ale, not too hoppy, just kinda easy&quo;-- no thanks asshole. If you brew beers for dipshits, then you deserve dipshit customers.

I believe most of the beer here was 3.2pct or lower. Even if it wasnít, this beer was the worst, nothing close to fully attenuated product, astringency party masked by sugary leftover malts, and a bar tender that was annoying as all get out (and drunk). Did not have the food, but based on the beer, I didnít want any. Too bad we commited to the growler before drinking a glass, because what was leftover and taken home never got consumed.

Well, yuppie bars with exposed brick haven't died, they've just moved out to the warehouse district. Seriously, though, this was a nice place in a rebuilt commercial area around OC's new ballpark. Big airy brick building with two dining floors around the brewing area. Good BBQ, of course (there's always good 'Q in OK). Up and coming area, nice place. Restaurant is open on Sunday, but they can't serve alcohol then.

This deserves the low rating because it could be so much better. All they need is a brewer who knows their ass from a hole in the ground. Cool location, decent food, infected beers.
Iíve been 6 times and the beer is horrid. It really pisses me off because it just solidifies Oklahoma as a beer desert when out of towners try this place. God help beer noobs who drink here; youíll never convince them to try anything other than BMC.
