Pretty good selection. As mentioned below all the beers are kept in the fridge, but the selection of singles was definitely not as large as their selection of duces and 6 packs.

Upscale grocery store in an upscale area. One section of bottles, all refrigerated. Mostly six packs, but some single large format bottles as well. Pretty standard selection for the most part, but a couple interesting finds. They have a good liquor selection, too.

Rating for the Rancho Mirage location just outside of Palm Springs.
Just as the above Tour Guide’s comments say, this is a high-end supermarket with a built-in pre-prepared food area and wine/beer shop. Pricey compared to some wholesalers or warehouse style stores, but not nearly as pricey as Vino-100 in nearby Cathedral City. There are probably 100-120 bottles here with fair representation of both the global market and the U.S. micros. The best part is that everything can be purchased as singles, no problem. It’s nice to walk in and be able to cherry-pick the beers you really want without having to pay for full 6-packs or worry about getting hasseled for breaking 6-packs.

Bristol Farms is one of my favorite stops when heading back from Los Angeles. They do sell by the single, but as John mentioned, they are slightly pricier than the competiton. Beers range usually from most local micros to a few well known Belgians. Once again, beware the organic hippy crowds. A good place to find a hidden gem though!

Bristol Farms has a very good selection of US (mainly west coast) micros. They are Pricey, however. At the location near my house, the staff was reasonable knowledgeable about beer and all beer was kept in a fridge.
