Went for lunch on a Saturday. Limited and expensive food menu. About a dozen taps including some interesting ON seasonals and local beers. Extensive bottle list ranging from LCBO-available stuff to belgian imports to expensive QC bottles. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had a good time but I wouldn’t go out my way for it.

Definitely more of a restaurant than a bar, but a pretty excellent selection. Barman who knew his stuff.Confusing that European beer seemed cheaper than local stuff.

Long wall of huge windows, will make this one of the most brightly lit places you ever enjoy a pint. It has a nice, slightly upscale casual atmosphere. You feel you are in an above average classs of place, but are comfortable in your t-shirt and shorts. Service is very good, and the staff are very knowledgable with regards to the beers they serve. Selection is solid, with a lot of regional staples, but a handful of seasonsals, and a new cask every Thursday, some better than others, keeps it feeling fresh. I wish you could cherry pick your flight combinations, but they have 3 set combinations lined up at any given time. That’s a ding against them in my opinion as you often want to try two beers and they are in different flights. Food selection needs more variety. There are only 2 or 3 things worth ordering. I have had the same thing, Steak Frites, all 4 times I have gone there, as nothing else entices me. Pricing is too high. I paid $25 for a 650ml bottle of Great Lakes Brewery’s Audrey Hopburn. Not a place if you are hoping to try new beers on a budget. I always have a good time here, but it’s a once every 6 months kind of place.

One of the newer places in Ottawa, this bar has potential. They have a lot of good bottles and while still mostly LCBO fare it seems like they are developing some more private imports. Their tap list is good but doesn’t rotate a lot compared to Arrow and Loon or Black Tomato. The list is usually half Ontario craft staples like Mad Tom or Smashbomb with a couple of good imports. They bring in a few interesting one offs from local breweries or craft stuff from Toronto or further away. They open a new cask once a week on Thursday and it’s usually gone after the weekend.

Great spot, went twice while in Ottawa. Fantastic food, especially the charcuterie. Two different bartenders on two different visits, both knew their beer facts and both were super friendly. Quite a few tables available outside too. Great selection of taps and bottles, with a cask on Thusdays (Twice As Mad Tom when I was there). Great spot, definitely would return.

Went in for dinner but didn’t prefer anything on their limited menu but stayed for a drink. Nice bottle list with a solid tap. Had a Rodenbach Grand Cru for $10. Would try and come back and try again. Patio is perfect for the summer.

We went there for the Sunday brunch and had some very good plates to accompany the solid tap list which includes many rarer local beers (there were two taps from Beyond the Pale on our visit, for instance). I ate a spatzle and artisanal bacon plate that was delicious and not too expensive. We had very friendly service all along despite our son being on a moody day and the place being almost empty on that very rainy day. The selection is solid, easily among the best in Ottawa and centrally located which makes it a no-brainer for a good meal. The venue itself is perhaps a bit smaller than what the outdoor look had led me to believe, but it’s very comfortable with a nice and large brick wall and tasty, modern wood and black dominating colors and large windows leaving plenty of natural light in,

My first visit since this place opened and was not disappointed. The look of the place is tasteful with a nice bar area, stone wall, not too big. Excellent and knowledgeable staff to serve, and good beer selection for the Ottawa area, with some rarities from TO and other provinces. The food is pricey but is part of the experience, all beer based, had the shrimp and belly on polenta, served with bread and chocolate malt butter (nice). They do flights of select beers.
