| 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 mcberko (134) Vancouver, British Columbia | September 14, 2012 Went for some dinner here and a bunch of samplers. The duck wings are highly recommended for a greasy dinner. I was kind of disappointed with the beer quality, given that Brouhaha’s beers are quite highly regarded in Montreal. Wasn’t blown away by anything really. Service is very solid and the prices are a little steep. | 80 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 JulienHuxley (130) Trois-Rivieres, Quebec | August 6, 2012 Brewpub located just outside of Montreal’s downtown, which, although a little farther to get to, makes it definitely easier (see cheaper) to park. Old building that still reeks of old cigarette smoke. The inside is dark and a little musty but still inviting. They are big on playing sporting events, you can catch every Montreal Canadiens game, the olympics were on when I was there. Service was done by only one waiter but was very efficient despite the crowd growing into the afternoon. The selection is very good. They have about 6 taps of their own stuff, several other quebec micros on tap and several imported bottles (lots of de molen and classic belgians when I was there). The food menu is short but good and reasonably priced. It might not be my everyday place if I lived in Montreal, but it is certainly a worthy stop. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 robinvboyer (69) Sturgeon Falls, Ontario | June 13, 2012 Visisted during their 4th anniversary. Great tap list of home brewed beers, and guest taps. Service was friendly and prompt. Got some free veggies and sliders. Atmosphere is great, wonderful brewpub feeling. You are here to have great beer not fill your face with food. It’s a little off the beaten track in Montreal, but worth seeking out. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 lefossoyeur (12) Montreal, Quebec | March 8, 2012 Many visits to this typical old tavern style brewpub with two separate rooms. Sometimes really good selection, sometimes really average. Limited to extended selection of imports with sometimes really good stuff in there (Jolly Pumpkin, Stone, Fantôme, Cantillon). Staff is really knowledgeable and service is really kind if sometimes a little slow when overcrowded, but I guess this is just normal. Food selection is short, but if you’re a meat lover, you’re gonna be just fine... A must go when in town. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 14/20 VincentL (6) montréal, Quebec | December 17, 2011 Ni place overall. The food isn’t great and the price are a bit high but they have pretty good homebrewn stuff. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 TheJester (34) Peterborough, Ontario | July 25, 2011| Updated August 6, 2012 A place I’ve been looking forward to visiting for a while. Showed up at 1:00. Should have checked first. They don’t open ’til three. The atmosphere/ambience isn’t what you’d expect. Think seventies biker bar. Sketchy clientele, guys with porn moustaches, antlers, tile floor, lights shaped like barrels, , loudish techno music, and an old movie on the big screen. Tight table arrangement. Beer on chalkboards. Small patio. More than the sum of its parts. Impressive bottle selection, decent guest taps. But I wish they had more of their own on tap. Prices are just okay. Duck wings and pizza were good. Decent service. I’ll be back. |
