This certainly feels like a project in development, it has the look of an old pub that knows where it is, but not the feel, it feels a little brash and new. New fittings in an old building. The beers were a little mixed in quality, but that can happen with a newish brewery / pub arrangement. Certainly worth revisiting, particularly on a Jewellery quarter crawl, but it doesnít feel the finished article yet.

Not really sure what to make of the Brown Lion as my experience changes everytime I visit. Sometimes its the jewel of the Jewellery Quarter and other times itís an embarrassment. With consistently top quality ale this will be one of my favourite pubs but sadly this is not what Iím getting. Will keep persevering though and update accordingly.

New tap house for the Two Towers brewery, with 5 of their beers on tap and a fridge full of excellent foreign bottles. All freshly decorated, so will take a short while to become homely, but has an interesting central bar, surrounded by tables and chairs on tiled flooring. I already like this place.
