100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 PhilipEverett (1) | January 19, 2008 This is THE beer store! Incredible selection. . . these guys bring in anything worth having that they can get their hands on (and let me tell ya, they get their hands on the good stuff)! That being said, I have been to some other really amazing beer stores as far as beer selection/availability, but they pale in comparison to Bruisin’ Ales! The people is what makes this store really stand out. Jason and Julie are so helpful and friendly, and they will go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable, steer you in the right direction, or simply get you beer. Chris is the other beer guy at the store, and it would be extremely difficult to find someone as knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful as he is! They keep the store at perfect beer storage temperature, lights off in the cooler, and special lighting throughout the store to keep light exposure to a minimum. These are just a few of the reasons I call Bruisin’ Ales THE beer store! | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 omnidan (2) North Carolina | February 28, 2010 A+. The focus here is on quality and large bottles. Will definitely come back to Asheville and this will be one of my first stops. update: I’ve visited the store several more times since my original review and it still amazes. It’s a small store in Downtown Asheville but they get maximum out of their space. For me this os where my craft beer journey started As you enter under the windows is where they keep canned beer, cider and gluten free beer. The shelf in the front corner is glassware. The shelves along the left wall are Belgian and Belgian beer. The shelves opposite the Belgian wall are English, Scottish, and German. The back left corner is Mikeller, Evil Twin, and other European Craft. The back bookshelves are National craft. As are the bookshelves on the right wall. Opposite those are local , state, and regional craft. One endcapmis mead the other is newest latest although they have some new stuff on their bar. Oh yeah I forgot the coolers next to the bar that have local growlers and some sixers chilled. Plus the cabinet near the entrance tends to be Dieu du ciel. They now have a parking lot next door for only a dollar an hour which is pretty good for parking in a downtown area. I think Bruisn Ales sets a standard for awesomeness that every bottle shop in America seeks to emulate. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 lopezlopezlope (11) , | October 1, 2011 one of the best bottle shops in the world, hands-down, knowledgeable, like the quaint location | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 ducdriverSF (4) | July 22, 2010 The best selection of beer in the Asheville, NC area. Brusin’ Ales doesn’t waste any space for wine or liquor. The lighting and temp are maintained for perfect storage in their beautiful, classy, clean, and homey downtown store. They know, respect, and love good Beer. (especially Belgians)
They are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and in my opinion the Best beer store in the Southeast. They even invented the word on their shirt - beer•lan•thro•py™ concern for the welfare and advancement of beer. Go visit them and if you’re in the area they definitely are worth being your only stop for beer.
Their selection of merchandise (T-shirts, glasses, and books) is among the best I’ve ever seen. Furthermore, they allow every 6 pack to be broken up so you can try many more beers. No Where else in Asheville has this. People are already coming from all over to get beers from a store that knows to keep their lights in the store low and in the coolers off ( to show respect for the reactions that can occur when too much light interacts with hop compounds in the bottle.

It has a great selection, and the service is very helpful. It is about time Asheville got a store like this. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 fiver29 (52) Cleveland, Ohio | July 11, 2009| Updated January 30, 2007 I visited today (a Saturday) and was very pleased. This place was a true beer store. They sell nothing but beer. And lots of good beer at that. They have a huge variety of imports, American craft, and a good selection of locals. Everything is divided appropriately and you can buy six packs or singles. They tossed in a glass since I bought so much. So now I’ve got another tulip glass to add to the collection. I picked up a Cantillon, Fantome, Pisgah, Struise, Great Divide, and so on. There were some growlers for sale as well. They answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable. Great selection, great service, prices were in line with other stores, and I went home happy. Not only do they carry the regular lineup of some of the best breweries the east coast has to offer but they have some one offs as well like Brooklyn 1 and DFH Red and White. I love giving places like this my business. Stop by, chat with the owners and pick up some incredible beers. |
