I wouldnt say this place has the best selection in NC, but that certainly have a great selection. Found Black Albert here along with several other gems. They do, however, have beers that i have never seen in NC. A great store and if you can find a place to park, it is worth a look.
Made a special stop during our annual vacation in the NC mountains. Wonderfull variety of selection, easily the best selection in NC. I was looking for local beers that I hadn’t tried before and I wasn’t disappointed. I asked for help on local selections I might have missed and I walked around the store and found another six pack of singles! I love stores that allow you to purchase singles.! Everyone was friendly and helpful, I will be back next year for the local growlers.
This place is amazingThe staff offered to help me find stuff, but were totally cool with just letting me browse around by myself. For the most part, the beers were averagely priced. Some beers were kinda pricey, but nothing was unreasonable. A few rare beers and regionals, and lots of belgians. A must for anyone in the area.
If you are in Asheville, you HAVE to stop here. I have a great bottle shop in my town (Knightly Spirits) and this definitely rivals it. Lots of hard to find stuff and breweries I have no access to, plus a great and knowledgeable staff. How cool is it that they have local growlers in stock, too!!
This is the store of my dreams. Beer and beer stuff. An entire wall dedicated strictly to Belgians. Everything is catagorized to region. Super variety of styles and counties. Singles available. Local growlers and mini-kegs. Books, t-shirts, and glasses. I love it. MellowMushroom down the block... Overall, an absolute must visit or must return!

If you like the Belgians, this is the place. I donít, but this place has a great selection of other dark and strong ales as well. Good selection of the locals, a fair amount of domestic micros and some good imports. Staff seems knowledgeable. Prices are ok, could be better, but it is Asheville and a specialty shop. I guess I just donít like I deserve a glass. Same thing happens to me at Brawleyís in Charlotte.

What a great store! Staff was very helpful! I was in a hurry and he jumped in to help me fill my order! What a selection. My biggest disappointment was that I had such a short time to visit and there was so much to see! Special Orders? No problem. It was there and waiting WITHOUT a Credit card to hold it! Thanks, Jason!

Update 10/20/2008 - This place never fails to impress me. I have been to every major beer retailer in North Carolina I think, and Bruisiní Ales is the best. In addtion to the incomparable selection of Belgians, the fact tath Jason stocks growlers from most of the local brewers makes it really special. The service is simply unbeatable, courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. This place alone would make Asheville a beer destination!! I first visited here about a year ago, and they had been open about 6 months. At the time,I think Jason told me that they had about 350-400 beers. But the beers that they had were first class, with a superior collection of Belgians. My most recent visit, on June 13, the selection had more than doubled. One of the best things is the selection of growlers from local brewers. If there is Belgian available in NC that he doesnít have, I would be surprised. This is exclusively a beer store, somewhat of a rarity. Beers are beautifully displayed, certainly the best Iíve seen, and Iíve been to some good ones. Finally, Jason, the co-owner (Iíve not met his wife) is really a great guy, very knowledgeable and helpful. I overheard him helping someone who nothing about beer get together some beers as a gift. Everything he told her was spot on correct without any B.S.pIf youíre within 100 miles of Asheville, this place is worth visiting, even without all of the other great beer destinations in this great town.
Nice beer store, I was able to buy a bunch of stuff I canít get in California. The lights are dim and the lights are out in the cooler. It is interesting that there was not a bad beer in the place even the low end stuff was decent. Was able to pick up a bunch of Dieu Du Ciel beers. The staff was knowledgeable, helped a couple of people while I was there after listening to their needs an suggesting several different beers. Got a free glass as well. A MUST visit when in Asheville.

Great store! Met Jay. Awesome selection of local stuff along with Belgian and German beers (and Danish, etc.). Picked up some stuff to take to the beach and may stop back on the way back North for some impossible to find beers in PA. Got my free glass after spending over $50. Decent prices and a must visit.
Second visit was just as successful on the way to the beach. Great place
This place is really great! Been there a few times but finally caught the owners there today and picked up a ton of stuff. Great selection, particularly of Belgian stuff. Felt like a kid in a candy store. Well organized with bulk in the storeroom, so itís easy to browse and see all they have. Also nice selection of local stuff, and very pleased to see growlers of Pisgah and French Broad stuff. Very friendlyeven send me away with a drinking glass! Will be back every time Iím in Asheville, Iím sure. Thanks, Jason and Julie, for opening such a great store!
