52 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 jmgreenuk (90) The Hague, Netherlands | August 9, 2012 The draft beer selection isn't extensive and there is nothing of particular note. The most annoying thing about this place is that they are constantly running out of their draft beers. I'm sitting here now and almost half of a poor selection is unavailable. Expensive, yes, but when compared to the price of Tiger in the city It's not so bad. The bar is fine even though it's sometimes used as a temporary storeroom. Most people sit outside anyway. The food here is usually good though. This place needs to improve if it wants to compete, but sadly it's going downhill. | 40 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 7/20 nate2g (447) Boomtown! / Waikato, New Zealand | July 21, 2012 Noisy road side cafe. Not much I can add to the other reviews. Pricey and dull beer list BUT for KL it offers something different from what else you’ll find around town. Be aware that tax and service is not included in the price advertised. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 10/20 visionthing (201) Oslo, Norway | May 18, 2012 Decent selection of Belgian and German beer. Most have been said in the other reviews - anyway it’s a good place to get some decent beer in Kuala Lumpur. Visited 2012-05-05 | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 11/20 deanso (212) the Hague, Netherlands | January 19, 2012 hard to think of anything that the other guys haven’t already said. It’s not cheap for beer but this is Malaysia. Food was ok. No real surprises beer wise. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 tomciccateri (116) Albuquerque, New Mexico | January 28, 2011 Halfway in between the Bukit Nanas and Raja Chulan monorail stops at Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan P. Ramlee. 8 place marble looking bar with a half dozen tall tables and corner mounted flatscreen TVs with sound. Two dozen tables outside, some under cover of parking complex (which creates the ambiance).
Lots of authentic logo glassware. No smoking noticed inside but cigarettes sold. Above a erage beer lineup, with emphasis on wheat beers. 15 percent off on happy hour (2 to 8). Most beers about $7 or $8 USD. Young Friday happyhour crowd.
Noteworthy are: Konig Ludwig, Franziskaner, Connor’s Stout, Belle Vue Kriek on draught. Leffe Brune and Nlond we on the board but not available. Interestkng bottles included: Chimay, Duvel, Tripel Karmeliet, Kwak, Maredsous, and Erdinger.
Food included soups and salads, meats, mussels, all from $7 to $10.
Well lit ace wit lots of windows, mirrord, glassware and framed beer prints. Almost an urban oasis if it wern’t for the cars driving by on three sides. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 11/20 Beershine (606) The Sunshine State, Florida | April 8, 2010 Office building bar with a healthy after-work crowd, has a nice vibe when the patio is full. Interior is tiny compared to the patio. With the fountain in the courtyard, is a pleasant place to sit. Happy hours shave a few bucks off per pint but not much, it’s Malaysia and prices are high. Does not look like a good place to eat. | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 10/20 Oakes (612) Savusavu, Fiji Islands | April 6, 2010 The Hap Seng branch of this beer bar chain has about the atmosphere you’d expect from a chain pub at the bottom of an office tower. The beers are fairly standard fare, and as usual for Malaysia very expensive (it’s the taxes). But it’s close to home and we can chill out with some ten dollar Hoegaardens, which makes a nice break once in a while. |
